Apparently Ryan wanted to maintain the integrity of the first movie and not be too extravagant with the sequel, or something like that. I think he's had enough bad experiences with bad superhero movies that he wants to make sure he does a good job with this one.

There was also disagreement over the casting of Cable. Tim wanted Kyle Chandler for the role while Ryan did not. I have to side with Ryan here, I can't picture him as Cable at all.

Kyle Chandler?!!

Cable is 6'8", old and hard as nails. Kyle Chandler wouldn't fit at all. A few decades back I would have cast Nick Nolte. That's the sort of guy they should be getting. I hope they don't muck this up. When I was reading Marvel mutant comics back in the '90s Cable was one of my top favorites.

Well, I haven't agreed with their casting of Cyclops either.

Is it that hard to find a 6'3" actor? That's why Cable is so tall.

I don't think either of their Cyclops actors have been appropriate. Marsden is too smug and Sheridan doesn't come off right. But then I think most of the mutants have been miscast. Don't get me started on Liev Schreiber as Sabertooth.

I'm glad to see someone who agrees with me.

Actually, I didn't mind Liev all that much. If he wore a wig or grew his hair out he'd probably look better.

I didn't like the short hair.

Liev is too civilized to be Sabertooth and too short. Sabertooth is about 6'6" and all animal. He's supposed to tower over Wolverine and he's supposed to be terrifying.

Well, Liev is 6'3", so he's pretty tall.

The problem isn't Liev, it's that Hugh is too tall to be Wolverine, who's basically Tom Cruise's height in the comics.

There's a big difference between 6'6'' and 6'3''. 6'3'' is tall. 6'6'' is bloody giant and that's what Sabertooth is supposed to be. And Wolverine isn't Tom Cruise's height. Cruise isn't half as short as people pretend he is. He's 5'7''. Wolverine is 5'3'', which is very different.

Yeah, he's a good actor. He's just totally miscast there.
