But does anybody else here think they're flogging the Deadpool-is-cool-and-funny thing a bit too much?

I must admit I'm a bit annoyed at his present status in contrast to how Cable is being handled. It wouldn't be happening that way if this were the '90s. Cable was a big sensation in the '90s and had his own ongoing comic 4 years before Deadpool did. I liked the first Deadpool film a lot and I find Deadpool a fun character, but I'm not especially attached to him, whereas Cable was one of my top favorites in the '90s and there's so much more to him than what they seem to be giving us in Deadpool 2.

Yeah, I get what you mean, sum1. It seems that Hollywood slants their films according to whatever is the cool, hip thing at the time. That's why the original X-Men films were the way they were. You think the Matrix-style outfits were a coincidence? And the X-Men lineup was influenced by the comics at the time, which is why they paired Rogue with Iceman instead of Gambit. That's probably the reason why Deadpool is being favored over Cable. I wish Hollywood wouldn't be that way.

'Deadpool 2': One of the Villains Rumored to Be Cut From the Film

Sucks for the actor. I think this movie will suffer from sequelitis.

I hope this isn't gonna affect the film. If he was cut then maybe the film was trying to avoid the problem of having too many villains, which is one of the things that ruined the Spider-Man movies.
