EL&I OT #37: That Awkward Moment When You Leave a Store Without Buying Anything and All You Can Think is "Act Natural, You're Innocent

new thread!

Mandie, good luck with your clear liquid diet.

Sunny, Hows the vacation countdown going?

Hi Leanne

that neighborhood trouble we have been having struck again last night and tonight. Only tonight the Sherriff was able to catch one of the jackasses. turns out he was a 10yr old boy. there are still 4 others out there. but now that they have the youngest one they think they will have the other names shortly.

Hello! I feel like I'm being quiet on this board

What is up with your neighbourhood "kids"?

So far I had a good first weekday of my break! I used some store points to save about $80-$90 bucks off a $179 purchase. And it was because I saved the points for about 2-3 years! I'm a points hoarder.

And my dad mentioned a potential deal and idea about us going into purchasing two condos and that would mean I could have my own 2 bedroom condo for myself.. but this would take a big compromise with the building owners because of my age and I have a cat. Either way, I'm fine where I am if it doesn't work out too!

Would you like being nearer your parents, Leanne? I mean, I assume that's part of the deal your father mentionned...

Kali Wow, 10 years old. That is so young. Makes you wonder who's not taking care of this kid, huh?

Well, I came home last night with difficulty breathing, which is par for the course when it's as cold and windy as it's been here. So I didn't think much of it when I started coughing... but then I spent much of last night doing that. And I woke with, what else is new, swollen tonsils and a feeling of continuous choking.

I didn't go into work. Normally, I would have, but I'm spending two hours in a car with my 3-week-old nephew next Saturday, so I figured I should put all of my non-existent energy into recovering as fast as I can.

Sunny, it doesn't matter to me, in fact, I think it would be useful for times when I need my dad to help with a "handyman" or car issue, or if I need someone to look after my cat if I'm gone for a bit. As long as they don't knock on my door without letting me know they are planning on dropping by, it's ok. That's one of my rules if we are close together, mind your own business and don't just "surprise visit" without warning.

Ouch, I hope your tonsils calm down, it seems everyone is getting sick or becoming afflicted with something!

I was only asking because I think I'd go insane if I lived anywhere nearer either one of my parents. And I love them both and we get along and all that. But the only way I get to be my own person, as opposed to their child, is if I have the advantage of distance.

Anyway, indeed, everyone's coming down with something. My sister-in-law went into the hospital today with kidney stones. According to my mother, who is lovely in many ways but also just loves to share bad news, this could mean I won't have to worry about contaminating my wee nephew with my germs as I'm most likely out of a ride to go to my dad's on Saturday.

The first clinic was not equipped for Type 1 Diabetics second one was more nicer and had everything I needed which is great. The second hospital actually cared.

So I had thought I posted as soon as I got home, but never pressed 'post quick reply'

My GI took 3 biopsies. No sign of Crohn's but we're testing for other things. I have to be daity free for a month. Follow up is in two weeks.

Apparently it took me a long time to come out of anesthetics. I have to be dairy free for a month, and possibly there after. My doctor was like "Finally you're awake."

Took them 4 times to try and get an iv going my veins are tiny and roll. Plus the Anesthesiology was horrible at ivs. The two nurses were so adorable trying everything they could. Warming me up with blankets to try and get my veins to appear. I had to be there at 5:30am left the hospital at 10:15am. My blood sugar was 71 this morning, 65 when I got there, 70 on their meter and they pumped me with D300 (Dextrose) through the iv and before going in, was 139 which is a good number to be under anesthetics. Apparently my Dexcom (reads blood sugars every 5 minutes) reached from where I was, to where my mom was which was awesome since she held the device instead of me taking it in with me.

The male nurse was cute. Though, he had done the first bit of anestetics and I wasn't falling asleep and he did more. They were like "Go sleepy sleepy, we'll see you soon." And I tried staying awake as long as I could but then my hearing felt like I was in a wind tunnel. And bam, out like a light. The nurse who were with my doctor during the whole time were super nice. They made sure my pump didn't fall to the ground. I alsl cheated on socks being removed. I had slid their socks they give out over one of my socks and right as the nurse who checked my blood sugar was near she was like "Need help?" Soo... I went in with 3 socks on. My one, their two.

Mandie glad that experience didn't suck too badly.

Leanne that's a nice offere from your dad!

hope you're feeling better Sunny.

I go in tomorrow for my marrow biopsy. but i'm glad to be getting it out of the way. they check out my stomach yesterday and were pleased with the healing progression and decided now would be the best time. so timing with Christmas sucks but it'll make for a better start for the new year! if that one comes back clean I won't have to have one for 6 months unless symptoms return. so I'm like bring it on!

oh our neighborhood trouble has not stopped. the 10yr old they caught only gave up his brother ( a 14yr old) and there were two more car break ins and more slashed tires. so our neighborhood is now being patrolled regularly but at random times so hopefully in the next day or two this will end.

I hope you all feel well for Christmas!

Yesterday, parents and I looked at the the two condos. The one I would potentially buy hasn't been updated since probably 1989 or 1990. Almost everything has to be replaced, tub, flooring, wallpaper removal. But the space and layout would be great and it even has a gas fireplace. It would be a good space for me. Still, if the strata doesn't allow exceptions for me (cause of my age and having a cat), it won't happen, it that's still ok.

Today I risked buying my gifts at the mall on Christmas Eve eve day and thought it would suck to be there, but it was fine! Lines were not bad and there were places for me to sit down and rest too so I didn't get over stresses! Now to wrap gifts tonight! (Not good at it )

Plus it's snowing, now that I don't have to go out, it's ok with me! White Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve guys! and Happy Hanukkah!

yay for a white Christmas, it'll be 85- 90 F here. the ac will definitely be blasting

So Friday I had my marrow biopsy done by a gingerbread man :lol that took some much needed stress off. The tech's two patients before me were small children so he dressed up for them. it was the most festive one I've ever had

He was really good to me! Not only did my brother ( who drew my name) hook me up with the my favs from Bath & Body Works, the entire family hooked me up, well all of us really, up with my bucket list trip. Plans are still tentative but the travel agent is booked and plans are being made for early 2018 Hello Scotland, Ireland & Australia so still a year away but it'll pass fast and give me a chance to build my stamina back up. so for staying healthy!

That's great news, Kali! Half the fun of a trip, is having the anticipation of planning and imagining what you are going to do when you take it. But it's hard to wait for it too. I know cause I have a year to anticipate next Christmas which I am planning to go to London during the holidays. Very, very fun to look forward to it!

I received gifts cards for our local spa for a future full body massage again and a luxury pedicure. Looking forward to the time I choose to indulge on those!

Totally snowing out on our Boxing Day right now so I'm choosing to not drive on the roads and not shopping for the big sales today. Maybe tomorrow. I also get my new mattress delivered tomorrow so I'm looking forward to a hopefully better night's sleep with it soon!

I'm soooooo
