That's not too surprising to learn.

You can sorta see from how pockmarked it is that the Moon has been through the wars.

It sure is, the mara or grey areas are former lava lakes!

That's what you call a drastic change in temperatures.

Earth's coral reefs will be gone in 30 years without intervention: experts

I do wonder if it is too late, as the article indicates it may be. It took millions of years to develop coral reefs (well, for coral reefs to develop) and it feels like whatever turnaround we can achieve in 30 years couldn't possibly make up for the damage we've caused already.

I hope we can still do something to preserve some of the corral reefs.

I've heard of places growing artificial ones, but I have a feeling that's not the same thing at all.

They have used tires/tyres, airplane airframes, and boats and ships for artificial reefs.

[sunnykerr]

Oh, yeah. Those are great for divers and such.

But I meant they've grown some artificial reefs from actual organic matter, to try and recreate the actual structure in terms of what feeds all the fauna that lives there.

I did not know that before!

It's another case of "probably too late, though."

I mean, even if they can replicate in labs, there's no guarantee it would survive transplantation in situ.

I hope something can be pulled off within time.

That would be nice, but it seems the scientific community thinks the time came and went.

Scientists model landscapes on Titan, revealing Earth-like environments

"The methane rivers, as well as winds, are key to how such an Earth-like landscape can appear on Titan. The researchers say abrasion of Titan's rock sediments from these rivers and winds help form grains of sand and create a seasonal sedimentary cycle that drives these landscapes."

There is so much similarities as it seems that Titan is like early Earth!
