Well, here in the U.S. Freeform is airing ''Hocus Pocus'' tonight. It began on the East Coast at 6:00 P.M. Eastern Time from what I've come across online & will air here out west at 9:00 P.M. after ''Hotel Transylvania''. I'm going to watch ''Poltergeist'' tonight from 1982. That is 1 of my favourite Horror flicks.

Me either. I have not seen Cher act much that I recall. Saw her in "Mask" & not much else if anything. I should be able to watch "Diabolique" from the 1950s on HBOMAX tonight.

Just watched "Diabolique" from 1955 & it was terrific I think. I see that it was remade in 1996 starring Sharon Stone, Chaz Palminteri, Isabelle Adjante, & Kathy Bates. I have not watched that 1996 film, but did read Roger Ebert's review of it & he thought it would have been better off not making that remake of "Diabolique". Anyway, if you haven't seen the original it is in French with English subtitles.

Hm. I know who Simone Signoret is, of course, but I've never heard of this movie.

Nor of its remake. We're finding yet more gaps in my cultural education.

Wow. Well, I likely would not have known about ''Diabolique'' if it was not on HBOMAX. Of course HBOMAX is not available in Canada & I am unsure if it ever will be. 2 others I found on there that I plan to watch are titled ''Carnivale of Souls'' from 1962 about a woman that gets drawn to an abandoned carnival after she was in a car wreck & ''Eyes Without a Face'', which is a 1960 French Horror movie.

I'm a bit shocked at that poster almost showing a full-on nipple there.

This was towards the end of the Hays Code, of course... so maybe it explains why the Code ended up dying...

But that still doesn't explain how that poster was allowed while the Code was still in place!
