Thanks for the new thread!

You are, Sara?! I did not know this. I tried songwriting when I was younger, but I'm awful at it. I think I'm going to stick to prose/crappy fanfics. Have you ever recorded anything?

I could never write songs! Well, I can't sing, LOL.

I've tried poetry, but it's challenging. My teachers always said I was good at it, though. I think I have to be in the right mindset to write it.

Most of my stories that I do write, though, tend to be dark and emotional. I can write comedy, but I personally get bored of it. I like drama and tension. It's one reason that I have a hard time finishing a lot of books. I tend to get bored after the climax and everything's dwindling down, so I personally always try to make sure there's some element of tension in my story, even as the resolution is approaching.

I'm also a huge fan of writing thematic stories. A strong theme/moral/lesson is everything.

Oooh, I like it, Sara!

Agreed on dark stories. I like some fluff too, don't get me wrong, but tension just keeps everything exciting and I always like the more serious stuff because it's in the more serious stuff that you see character development, which I love, and the plot actually moving forward.

I don't know if I'm really good at writing angst though, but I usually tend to have at least a vague hint of angst in my stories. I once published a very angsty ficlet on fanfiction.net, though, and I got a review saying "Oh my god, this was so cute, until the end when you dropped that bomb!" while that bomb~ was there all along. But hey, I guess they had good intentions? It did doubt my skills at writing angst a bit though.

I write poetry but I haven't got the confidence to show people my writing because everytime I do write some poetry I think that it could have been more better. So I don't bother I like to write about emotions. Happy or dark ones
I suppose I will find the confidence one day.

The joy of end of school shopping clearance. I was able to get 20- 1 subject college ruled spiral notebooks and a pack of 10 pens all for $4.22. The spirals were marked at .17 and the pens at .50.

I'm totally set for writing be it fanfic or other!

I should have picked up some notebooks, but I prefer to type my stories. I type much faster than I write. Usually I'll use notebooks to write down a quick idea or something.

Sadly, I can't write outside with a computer because there's too much glare on the screen. I love writing outside because it's calm (although I don't really have a good place to write here at my apartment complex). Sometimes I'll go to the library to write, but the internet connection sucks there when too many people are on it (I generally sync everything to my Google Drive because it's convenient and I can access it on any device). Sometimes it's nice to get out and write away from my apartment. I need to do it more often, tbh.

That's great!

I look forward to seeing what you come up with, if you don't mind sharing it!

Yeah you bet.

I'm currently working on a Twilight fanfic.

I usually like to write my stories and then type them because I'm not at the computer all the time when an idea for a story hits.
