Depression Support #20 ~ Is There No Way Out the Mind? - Sylvia Plath

Can one of you edit in a title? My mind is completely blank.

Patience is definitely important, Sunny. There is no rush, because it's never ending, and it is something that you can progress in at times.

m&m fkan, of course it's okay! Talk to us any time you want to or need to. I'm so glad you got away from your boss. That is wonderful. No one has the right to treat you the way they did.

Whether it's clinical depression, or not, being depressed is being depressed. It helps me to be able to talk here, and hopefully it's helping you, too.

Tftnt! :)

Thanks for the new thread, Kim. If anyone can think of a title, we'll add it. :)

And it's not patience. I'm not patient. I'm just out of energy. So I stick to things.

Thanks Kim!,

I literally picked the shortest title. I hope no one minds. Thanks for the suggestions, Leanne.

Thanks for the title suggestion Leanne, and for adding it Sunny.

Sunny. it does get exhausting. It feels like, and is, a constant struggle, so I see why you're out of energy.

I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder last year. I do get depressed once in awhile.

sunnykerr 03-27-2018 04:49 PM

^ Well, we're here for you. :)

And thanks, Kim. Right back at you. :) How are you doing?

There You'll Be 03-28-2018 10:51 AM

We are all definitely here for you.

Thanks Sunny. :) I'm good. Still sad about a lot of things, but, I'm doing better as far as my days go.

Are things going any better at work, or is it still one of those weeks, where it's just a matter of getting through them?

sunnykerr 03-28-2018 03:30 PM

It's still a matter of getting through the days and the weeks, Kim. I hope things will get better at some point. I just don't know when that might be.

There You'll Be 03-29-2018 10:55 AM

That has to be frustrating. Beyond frustrating really.

Do your think it's general depression-just endless "same old" days? Or, is it about things right now?

sunnykerr 03-29-2018 05:25 PM

I don't think it's full-on depression, Kim. People who have full-on depression aren't able to get out of bed or do much of anything. I'm completely functional.

But I'm not someone who experiences a whole lot of emotions. I tend to run pretty neutral, so it maybe doesn't take much for me to get a bit run down when things are stressful.

There You'll Be 03-30-2018 09:28 AM

That sounds like why you'd get run down, and worn out, easily. I think any kind of stress or upset would intrude up your sense of peace and well being.

That makes it hard, and draining, to be around a lot of people, too.

At least for me is is. I don't have energy to focus on a lot of people around me. I tend to try and just be with one or 2 in a group situation. I don't do well in situations where a lot of emotions are expressed.

sunnykerr 03-31-2018 10:22 AM

I don't do well being by myself for too long either, though.

So there's no winning. But that's okay. I mean, that's just life, isn't it?
