I used to watch Bondi Vet when I was living in digs at uni, the area picked up more channels than at home. I think that was the earlier seasons. I forget his name but the main vet was pretty easy on the eyes not gonna lie.
![]() Sorry I confused you! You can totally get why I mixed them up though ![]() That's a shame you weren't able to watch the rest of Lucifer when it moved to Netflix, seasons 4-6 were awesome. It was insane when Fox cancelled it at the end of S3, especially when it ended on a cliffhanger, but all the fans rallied on social media to save the show, and thankfully, Netflix picked it up. Completely understand not streaming, it can be expensive and only worth it if there's a lot of content on it that you want to watch. Have you considered buying the DVDs to watch the rest of the show? Tom Ellis is an amazing actor, I loved his portrayal of Lucifer. And yes, he is very nice, and I love how much fun he is on the panels at comic con. He's had a tradition at each con where he would wear a half a dozen or so t-shirts, mostly Lucifer themed, and hand them out to random people in the audience, and sign them as well (I saw this on youtube). I wondered whether he would do the same at the London one and he did. Aimee Garcia signed them too. It was great fun! I didn't get a t-shirt though, sadly. ![]() ![]() __________________

The main vet on Bondi Vet was easy on the eyes, yes, but not really my type.
![]() ![]() ![]() I can totally understand the confusion about Good Place, Good Wife, Good Fight. I was just trying to explain why I didn't immediately get it because, honestly, I should have. I kept myself informed about what was happening on Lucifer. ![]() ![]() Considering how the fans saved the show, it seems normal to me that the stars of the show would engage with them. ![]() ![]() __________________

I don't necessarily have a type either.
![]() It's the same when we get shows from the US. Some shows we can get aired pretty much at the same time, but others tend to be more behind. Aw it's ok. ![]() Oh ok, yeah, it was so good. I think they were able to have more creative freedom with the show on there. Maybe someday you'll be able to watch the rest of it. ![]() __________________

It's just easier for me to say what doesn't appeal to me in the appearance of a man than it is to day what does. And, even then, my biggest crushes have always been more as a result of personality/humour than looks.
![]() The only thing I know about real-life Tom Ellis is, unfortunately, that he cheated on his partner. For all I know, she cheated on him first or, if not, there were *circumstances* and I would seriously not want to judge anyone on their ability to be a good partner. We've had that discussion... I just mean that it's given me an impression of a man who will quite easily flirt with anyone. ![]() Come to think of it, this is another reason to never meet a celebrity crush of mine. I am instantly suspicious of strangers who are that charming with me. ![]() __________________

Fair enough.
![]() I knew about that. When he was with his previous wife (with whom he has two children) I think he had something with another actress. But I believe that was short lived. I don't want to know the ins and outs and details of what really happened, it's none of my business of what goes on in a celebrity's personal life. As far as I see it, it was a mistake made, they decided to divorce and a few years later Tom is now happily married to someone else. It never gave me the impression that he quite easily flirts with anyone as it happened just the one time. ![]() I understand how and why you would feel that way. Having a healthy self esteem is important for yourself, I think, more so than working on being less suspicious of people's intentions. Yes, it's not ideal to be always be instantly suspicious of people, but sometimes it can be helpful, especially for your own personal safety around complete strangers. __________________

![]() Fortunately, I believe he has enough happiness in his life that he doesn't need my friendship or compliments during one short meeting or whatever... to complete it. ![]() And, you know, not loving the one thing I know about him never stopped me from watching or enjoying Lucifer. There are other celebrities whose work I will never willingly watch because of my disgust for them. Of the top of my head, anything to do with Woody Allen, Tom Cruise, and I guess that woman who groomed her underaged husband we talked about a while back and whose name I've already forgotten. ![]() When I say I don't love knowing that he cheated on his partner and that knowing that leads me to have a certain tendency to jump to certain conclusions hastily sometimes, it's a very mild sort of feeling. I jump to conclusions knowing that this is what I'm doing and completely ready and willing to revise my opinion. It's just simpler with the Eddie Redmaynes and Jamie Dornans of the world whose uxuriousness goes unchallenged. ![]() __________________

That's absolutely fair and I totally get it, truly I do.
![]() I should elaborate though, and say that I don't enjoy meeting actors because I find them attractive, I meet them because I enjoy and admire the work that they do and I want to express to them how much a particular show or movie that they worked so hard on means to me. I don't need to compliment them on anything other than their work. I don't want to know about their personal life because as I've said, it's none of my business what they do outside of the work that they do. And I admire the celebs who are able to keep most of their personal life private, like Tom Welling has been able to do. Granted, he's opened up more in recent years and spoken quite a bit about some personal stuff on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast and does have an instagram/facebook account, but only because his wife Jessica posts a lot on hers. If you had told me 10 years ago that Tom would join social media I wouldn't have believed you. ![]() Indeed, and you're watching him play a character, not himself so you can easily separate actor from character if you so wish. It's what I have to do when re-watching Smallville these days with AM. I am watching Chloe, not the actress. I've only watched Eddie Redmayne in The Theory of Everything, he was fantastic in the role of Stephen Hawking. Jamie Dornan, again the only thing I've seen him in is the few episodes he was on Once Upon a Time. I don't know anything else about them. __________________

I think they must really appreciate the people who do take the time to show up to tell them how much they appreciate their work. I've heard so many actors go through a period where they wonder about the meaning of what they do since they "dpn't save lives" or whatever. And, obviously, art of every kind if meaningful.
(As a quick aside, I've heard a plastic surgeon describe his work as "not saving lives, but as addressing the quality of that life," and I couldn't agree more, and that reminds of what artists do.) So it must be such a positive experience for them when they have people willing to let them know how meaningful their work is to them. And, and everyone else who shows up to cons, does that. That's awesome. And if they remember you, that's yet more proof of just how much it means to them. When you know an actor from one thing, it's easier to see the character and not the person. Once you start following them across projects, you still see the characters, of course, but you also see the actor as well. At least, I do. __________________

That's a great way to look at it, addressing someone's quality of life is also a very important job. All sorts of artists help give people something to enjoy and get a lot of inspiration.
Oh absolutely, and that's why I think it's so important to let them know how much their work means to you because that gets them inspired to continue to do what they do. That's very true, I see both with some actors I closely follow but just see the character of those I've only seen once or twice. ![]() __________________

And now I remember in the movie The Day After Tomorrow where they burn a bunch of books to stave off freezing temperatures, there was a random man who was presented as very uptight who put up a fight to protect... I want to say a Gutenberg Bible, but I could be wrong. Basically, he did the nerdy equivalent of "risking his life" to protect a book from being burned.
And that was his reasoning. It's important to do everything we can to save lives. But then you also have to take care of what makes life worth living. Culture, friendships, history, etc. And art, which is what actors do. ![]() There's a reason I'll never skip a Daniel Radcliffe interview. ![]() But, if I ever did meet him, I hope I would have the wherewithal to be cool and tell him that I'm glad he's in this world, bringing his art to the rest fo us. __________________

What a great analogy, yes exactly.
![]() aww that's nice. Funnily enough I used to crush on Daniel Radcliffe a little back in the early days of the Harry Potter movies and I was obsessed with them, when I was about 12. __________________

I may have gone down the YouTube wormhole watching Daniel Radcliffe interviews yesterday.
![]() I might have had a crush on him during the Harry Potter days if he wasn't so young when it all started. We're only 10-ish years apart, but he was a kid when it all began. He's obviously no longer a child. But I was a young adult and he was a child and, even though the age difference isn't all that huge, that really impressed the difference on me. ![]() I never would have a crush on Snape either, but Alan Rickman in other roles? Much more my lane. ![]() __________________

Haha that happens to me all the time with Tom.
![]() ![]() ![]() Tom is around 12 years older than me, (he doesn't look it though) but lately I've found myself crushing on older guys as I get older ![]() Can also depend on the roles they play. ![]() __________________

Oh, I could have a crush on a male celebrity who is 10 years younger than me. Just not when they were a kid when I "met" them.
![]() Having crushes on older, even much older, celebrities is much easier. Because then it's all between consenting adults. ![]() Alan Rickman, for instance, was much more than 10 years older than me. The odd thing is when you have a crush on someone and they disappear from the public eye. And then, when you see them again... they've changed. ![]() When I was a teenager, it was normal for girls to have crushes on professional athletes. So you have these young men, at the peak of their physical prime, and then they retire. Then, 10 years later, you see them again because they're brought back as coaches or commentators and, well... some of them have gone through through the wars or something. ![]() __________________

I feel ok having a crush on someone younger if I was literally a kid (a legal minor) while they were also alive and a minor. We both had to be kids at one point in time at the same time
![]() The exception is when they are older than me, then they can be any age if I fancy them now or in their past work! ![]() __________________
