I'm not sure Disney would've known how to handle it given that the series was initially aimed at a younger demographic.

Yeah, exactly. I mean, I'm still fully convinced Ryan was not 100% straight, and they didn't handle him very well, let's be real. As much as I love Ryan and Kelsi, they swept his sexuality under the rug completely by pairing them up.

Agreed.
I mean, he could have very well just been flamboyant in the way that guys in the theatre are, but could've been straight. But there were a lot of things that made you think he was gay that Disney never tried to explain. It's Disney though. I kind of don't expect them to do that, especially if it's a DC movie. |

Exactly.
 I personally think he's bisexual because he is genuinely interested in Kelsi, but there's something about the way he acts around guys that convinces me that he's interested in them as well. It's not even the flamboyance (I think Sharpay's influence had a lot to do with that), but it's just the way he acts, the little subtleties. But then again, I don't expect them to pair him up with say, Chad. As homophobic as it may sound, it may be too risque for Disney (from the point of view of Disney execs, I mean). |

Agreed on both counts.
In that way it's better that it be left to the imagination of fans. At least then Disney couldn't try it, fail and insult anyone in that way. |

Yeah.
I mean, we're definitely not in a place yet that the controversy surrounding homosexuality has become less radical for the lack of a better word, let alone 6 years ago. |

Exactly.
It's kind of foolish to believe that Disney would explicitly execute such a storyline. Maybe in the far future (one can hope, right?), but not right now.(I may or may not have written a G/S drabble just because I can.  ) |
