I loved Kwest and loved them together, but I sort of understand why she broke up with him. I got the feeling that his need to constantly do things for her and step in even when she really didn't need him too got a bit suffocating after a while. I could sympathise with that a bit. At least that was the impression I got. I did wonder if he acted that way because he was trying to compensate for how Tommy treated her and just went a bit overboard.
