My usual warm and fuzzy Christmas threads take a drastic turn this year. Lol.

Released in 1984, "Silent Night, Deadly Night" follows the story of Billy Chapman. After he witnesses his parents die by a man dressed in a Santa suit, young Billy goes to live in a strict orphanage run by nuns. As a young man, Billy finally snaps and goes on his own killing spree dressed as Santa Claus.



This movie was incredibly controversial. Parents and other groups protested the film because of it's depiction of Santa. It's probably the most notorious horror film of the 80s. Soon, the studio pulled all ads for the movie after it's release and, eventually, the movie itself after a short, brief run. This only helped cement the film and garner it a huge cult following.

There's another crazed Santa movie called "Christmas Evil". I was going to make a thread for that too, but I might just put it in the horror thread. Lol.

The DVD has been OOP for a few years now, but it's being re-released with Part 2 on December 4, the same day as "Silent Night", the remake.

It is. I've wanted this one for a long time. It looks to be pretty cheap too on Amazon. That's good as Part 2 is unwatchable from what I remember.
