Before Robert Zemeckis came on to direct, the character was going to be voiced by Russi Taylor, who was a voice actress for Disney. However, that is not Kathleen singing the film. The singing was done by actress Amy Irving, who used to be married to Steven Spielberg.

I would take either one. They keep saying a sequel is being planned and worked on and then nothing.
