Tom's guitarist, Mike Campbell, came up with this piece of music that he thought Tom could write the lyrics to and come up with a song. Tom didn't and ended up doing away with this piece of music. Don Henley heard it, wrote the lyrics and re-arranged it. The song? "Boys of Summer".

The videos seem to be working now. I just came across this song. It was the first single off his 2006 album, "Highway Companion", and I can't stop listening to it. Sounds classic.
