Thread #5 for the most successful filmmaker of all time, Steven Spielberg. He made the 80's special and magical as a director ("Raiders of the Lost Ark", "E. T." and Indiana Jones sequels), as a producer ("Back To The Future", "Gremlins", "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?", Batteries Not Included") and as producer/story ("The Goonies", "Poltergeist").

His other 80s works as a director include 1985's "The Color Purple", 1987's "Empire of the Sun" and 1989's "Always". His other 80s credits as producer/executive producer include "Back To The Future II", "An American Tail", "Young Sherlock Holmes", "The Blues Brothers", "The Money Pit", "The Land Before Time" and "Innerspace".

I will. Full of pop culture references. The trailer featured the DeLorean, Freddy Krueger, The Iron Giant and a few more.

Well, that's enough to suck you in.

Jurassic Park!

Cool. My favorite non-80's movie would be "Jaws" with "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" and "Jurassic Park" a close second.

Oh, yeah, I forgot his '70's era  Jaws is a fave plus his earliest TV movie directing job "Duel" about the guy getting chased down by a crazy truck driver... I watch that and can hardly believe he was like, 25 when he directed that!

I can't wait for this. Something did anger me though. A woman in the trailer was talking about some movie and mentioned "They said he ruined the movies." Grr!! Anyways -

That will be fun to see. As long as they don’t leave out “Hook”
