Hmm, see I liked how this was a more limited cast and it touched on social classes/high school popularity issues. I also liked it went more into a parent's expectations for a kid in Keith's plot with his dad.

Maybe it was because it was so similar to "Pretty In Pink" and audiences thought "Well, I just saw that movie last year."

That might have been it. I know this had the ending John Hughes wanted for "Pretty in Pink."

I wonder why this movie performed the lowest of John Hughes' 80's teen movies? By the time it came out, had they just run their course? Did audiences see this as just a re-make of "Pretty In Pink" and decided not to bother?
