the joke is, dan castellenata and julie kavner were stars of the tracey ullman show, and when it was time for him to be the voice of homer simpson, you could tell it was him, because homer was pretty much drawn to look like him: ie "hey, wasnt he the guy from the skit they did just then? and now, hes animated!"

^ Dan Castellenata is one on the left of the picture (Obviously!), and julie kavner is the one of the right, julie kavner had a body of work going into the tracey ullman show, she was a star of Rhoda, and also played the head nurse of Awakenings (with Robin Williams)

I watched TTUS and always looked forward to those shorts.
