Hey guys, welcome to the new Friday the 13th thread. This one is special because it comes on the heels of Betsy Palmer, Mrs. Pamela Voorhees, passing away. For that, the thread title is from her in one of her best delivered lines from the original. She truly is the best on screen mother that Hollywood has ever had. Best...maybe most devoted is better wording!

She passed on Friday, but it became public knowledge around 8pm EST last night.

I'm kinda happy to see so many mainstream media outlets covering it. The things she did in the 50s were big then and she trickled into almost unknown until Friday the 13th....and has since not done much, either.

When she did F13, Gene Siskel actually gave out her phone number on air for people to call and tell her how disappointed and upset they were she did such a film. On the air! No way would that happen now.

Siskel and Ebert and Roper are all hacks. I consider anyone who listens to a professional movie critic to be an idiot. Him attacking Palmer I remember reading about and it's like...who cares. Betsy Palmer, after that role in the movie, i wouldn't mess with her. She'll show up at your house and kill you, lol

that's horror movies for you. Movie critics very rarely say nice things about horror movies (I can name like 30 that are reviewed positively, but usually they're shat on)

I rarely listen to critics when it's a movie or show I'm interested in or a certain kind of genre, like horror.
