No, Roseanne will not appear on the show at all. As for how she will be gone, it has not been said yet and probably won't be until we get closer to the premiere (October 16th).

They either kill her off from her opioid addiction or complications from her knee surgery. Either that or she is off at some drug center to kick her habit. That seems pretty unlikely though since she would be released at some point.
