Growing Pains Appreciation #5 - Sharing the Laughter and Love
The Growing Pains Appreciation Thread :star: :star:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...creenshot1.jpg The show's premise is based around the fictional Seaver family, who reside on Long Island, New York. Dr. Jason Seaver (Alan Thicke), a psychiatrist, works from home because his wife, Maggie Malone (Joanna Kerns), has gone back to work as a reporter. Jason has to take care of the kids: troublemaker Mike (Kirk Cameron), honors student Carol (Tracey Gold), and rambunctious Ben (Jeremy Miller). From 1988 on, Chrissy Seaver became a part of the family. She was played in her infant stage by twins Kristen and Kelsey Dohring (who alternated in the role). Beginning in the fall of 1990, Chrissy's character's age was advanced to six years old, whereupon Ashley Johnson took over the role. The show was relevant in the mid-1980s, as women going to work was becoming more and more common, as were stay-at-home dads. |
Nice thread title!

I love the new thread title :)

One of the best theme songs.
Thanks. Such a great theme song.
I hated the different version they had towards the end. Was it season 7? They changed it to like a barbershop quartet sound or something. I don't think it lasted though.
I don't remember but do remember the change you're talking about. You're right. It wasn't as good.
It was a doo wop kind of thing or something. I mean, I like that, but I hated that version.
I don't know why they'd want to change.
If it ain't broke....
Right!
I still miss theme songs. |
Me too.
They're fun.
Any news about this show or anyone on it? |
I believe Alan Thicke is on a summer CW series called "L.A. Complex" or something. He keeps mentioning it in his tweets. Joanna Kerns was supposed to be in a new show too, but I don't know if it's been picked up or not.
I heard of that.
