Tomorrow night's episode is a pilot for a spin-off they shot that takes place in the 90's. It wasn't picked up but they are airing the episode and testing the waters.

Huh? Does it take place in the future?

I enjoyed last week's ep, especially when Erica’s roommate thought Geoff and Bev made a cute couple (or something like that).

All I know is that the spin-off pilot they are airing takes place in "1990-something". It takes place at the school with Coach Mellor and Mr. Glasgott and new characters. It really has nothing to do with the Goldberg family except that Bev has a cameo in it.

It was the #1 show on TV the night it aired and had about the same amount of viewers as the previous episodes of "The Goldbergs". That is pretty strong for the network to take a second look at the spin-off.

I imagine if it went to air they would be put together. I would probably watch but it wouldn't be a "need" like The Goldbergs.
