It is kind of amazing the impact they had and the doors they opened when they only originally lasted like 5 years or so before they first broke up. I believe they were the first all girl group, one of the first anyways, who wrote their own songs and performed their own instruments.

Yeah, I can’t think of many others. Probably just The Runaways, the band with Joan Jett and Lita Ford, but I’m not sure how many of those songs were originals.

Yeah, The Runaways were before, and they did write or co-write a lot of their songs, but they also had some outside writers on them as well like their manager and producers and some other people.
