^ Me neither, even though I watched it on Netflix about 3-4 years ago.

This month, I’ve been doing a rewatch of ADW (skipping s1, sorry Lisa Bonet) before my Amazon Prime subscription expires later this month. Some of those social issue episodes hit right in the feels. They are very well done without coming off as preachy or overly political. I’m reminded of what a great show this was. Truly one of a kind.

The really id do well with the issues. One I remember is the issue with student who had HIV.

A student had HIV, and no one wanted to have anything to do with her. They were upset because she was working in a restaurant.

Yeah, I guess during that time the general public still didn’t fully understand how HIV could be transmitted, so a lot of people were afraid. Also, that student couldn’t see herself living past the following year because the virus had progressed into AIDS. Sad episode.

I just watched the episode where Whitley and Dwayne broke off their engagement; meanwhile and in sharp contrast, Freddie was experiencing falling in love for the first time, with that guy Shazza Zulu. Another great episode!
