Music Videos of the 80s

Got any favourites?

I loved the Twisted Sister videos - especially "I Wanna Rock", "We're Not Gonna Take It" and their cover of "The Leader Of the Pack". Mainly because they were funny and made me

Several of the Bon Jovi videos were great too, especially the ones with 'live' (well not really) clips in it, like "Livin' On a Prayer" and "You Give Love a Bad Name"

Madonna had lots of great videos. For example "La Isla Bonita" - I loved the way she was dressed up in that one, and "Like a Prayer".

Dire Straits. Great video. One of my favourite bands of all time, especially the album "Brothers In Arms" (where you find the song Money For Nothing as well).

*All* videos I've ever seen with him have been hilarious. This one especially. Loved it.

Hmmm...

I liked "Rock of Ages" and "Foolin'" by Def Leppard. Any and all Duran Duran videos (were those guys good at videos or WHAT?), and pretty much anything Michael Jackson threw out at us. I liked "Borderline" by Madonna, she had kickass clothes in that. Oh, and her "Into the Groove" video. I never saw the movie the song came from, but I enjoyed the video with the clips. Yup "Eat It" made an impression that lasted with me as well.

I realised that pretty much anything Madonna did during the 80s as far as videos goes is good.

Maria - Def Leppard! Of course! Anything by these guys, both song wise and video wise is great.

I loved "Pour some sugar on me" & "Photograph" by the Def Lep. "Living on a Prayer" & "Lay your hands on me" by BJ are ones I loved. Weird Al had great videos, all of them.
I loved "Superstitous" by Europe, then again I just loved how gorgeous Joey Tempest looked in that vid!
Van Halen had some good ones too.

Great thread.

Madonna's Crazy For You was from Vision Quest, which I own. Not a bad movie.

Loved David Lee Roth's. His were good. Loved Sister Christan by Nightranger, agree about Duran Duran, The Cars, and Van Halen.

The absolute *best* music video of the 80's was "Take on me" by A Ha. Anyone remember that one?

"Livin On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi was the first ever MTV/music video I ever saw, and that also when I first got exposed to Bon Jovi. Sure, the video was a tad bit corny, but you gotta love Jon flying.

"Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson

"Drive" by The Cars
"Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler

And some videos from Madonna including, La Isla Bonita and Cherish.

A woman with great taste, that is what you are! Jovi, Leppard and Europe are still major favourites of mine. Joey still looks great! I adored Europe's second album, Wings Of Tomorrow. Oh, right, music videos was the topic - my favourite Europe video is probably "Rock The Night".

Speaking of Europe, I know your sig "The King Will Return" refers to something else, but it still reminds me of the Europe song with the same name.

Yup, I love it. The mix with the mirror, the cartoon and the 'real' was great!
