The article in the OP is still a great read. Bumping this up for any newbies.

This is a great thread and the articles were great also. I chuckle when people make fun of how huge cell phones were back then because today's smart phones are getting close in size when you think about it.

I enjoyed the articles too, especially the main one in the OP. Really says a lot.
Yeah, some phones look bigger. Pretty soon, they will be back to being the "brick". __________________

On this date in 1982, Sony released the first CD player.

I didn't think CDs came that early in the 80s.

I thought CD's were late 80's, but I was wrong.
Remember when the CD's were packaged in those huge boxes? Then they stopped doing that. |

Lol! I don't think I do. I can imagine. Everything was "big" in the 80s.

Good article. I can't believe the things kids have these days. They always seem bored without their phones, ipods, ipads, etc. I find it sad.

I know a few people who won't let their kids have games, phones, etc. They have to go outside and play the old-fashioned way. lol
Oh, they are allowed to board games. Haha! When that gets boring, they have to read actual books. No e-books or Kindle. Real books. __________________
