Businessman Neal Page (Steve Martin) is an ad exec from Chicago who is trying to get home for Thanksgiving. When his plane plans derail, he is paired with obnoxious Dale Griffith (John Candy), and the two are off on a madcap adventure to get home.

The movie was written and directed by the great John Hughes and features appearances by Michael McKean, Edie McClurg, and a cameo by Kevin Bacon.
