When my godfather was alive he would buy most of my toys there and send my toys in packages for me on my birthdays and Christmas and was one of the popular stores that sold toys at real good prices. In 1990 Child World/Children's Palace went bankrupt and closed all their stores. I think the reason why toy stores are disappearing is because popular stores like Target and Walmart and even Big Lots are becoming the kings of toy sales and have caused the toy stores to go broke. My mother and I used to spend happy hours in Kay-Bee Toys buying dolls and video games for me and I even had a Kay Bee Toys Outlet in my outlet center that my Mom and I would also get great deals on my celebrity dolls and it was so great to see all the celebrity dolls that Kay Bee Toys had

Hmm. Children's Palace sounds familiar but I am not entirely sure. I would go to Kay Bee too. We had a fun one at the mall years ago. Yeah, other places are big for selling toys plus there is also an online presence too.

I remember those, Melis.

I haven't heard of that one.

I remember when I bought my first Barbie doll and she was the Fun To Dress Barbie doll and my mom bought her for me at a drug store as a reward for good behavior and I was happy with her and I still have her though I have outgrown Barbies and my other toys and then I got my first Ken doll which was Beach Blast Ken from 1989 and he was so cool. But my all time favorite Barbie doll was Superstar Barbie from 1989 and I thought she was full of glamour as a movie actress and because of her I often fantasized of becoming a movie star and my Superstar Barbie came with a bracelet with a star charm that an adult had to attach to the bracelet. Sadly when I took my Superstar Barbie doll grocery shopping I lost the ring at the checkout line and my grandfather never found it

I always loved to play pretend when I was younger and my favorite toy was my Fisher Price Medical Kit and it was the best version because it had the famous black doctor bag and I used to pretend my dolls had illnesses and I enjoyed pretending to be a doctor. Another favorite toy I had when I was younger around six was my Mattel shopping cart and it was a really cute shopping cart that was yellow and orange and when my mom would shop I would put my doll in the shopping cart and pretend to shop too and I still have it. And it's no secret that one of my favorite game shows is Supermarket Sweep and I would also pretend to be a contestant on the show while holding my shopping cart and it was so darling. Do you remember this Mattel shopping cart?

Yes, I did have that cart when I was real little. In fact, we have a picture of me in our kitchen with the cart taking cans out of the cupboard and putting them in the cart like I was shopping.
