I didn't know quite where to put this, so it's going here.
Inspired by the wonderful hosts of the Verity! Podcast and a supplemental episode they recorded back in 2019, I sat down and figured out a list of my 7 most favorite episodes from the Russell T. Davies era of Modern Who, and wanted to share my choices. These choices aren't ranked, but I am listing them in chronological order: * Rose * The Christmas Invasion * Fear Her * The Runaway Bride * The Lazarus Experiment * Midnight * Turn Left __________________

I'm putting this here because it concerns The Christmas Invasion, which is counted as part of Season 1 by HBO Max.
I've always had a problem with the Tenth Doctor's deposement of Harriet Jones due to her decision to destroy the Sycorax, but watching the Third Doctor's era of stories has put Ten's reaction in a different context because he'd dealt with the line of thinking behind Hariett's actions in the past to costly consequence. I still think he didn't need to be as harsh as he was, but being able to connect his reaction in The Christmas Invasion to previous instances of government officials "shooting first and asking questions never" helps make that reaction feel less out-of-character, which is nice. __________________

I understood the sentiment, but the way he acted on his opinion seemed mean in a personal way. Apart from that I love "The Christmas Invasion"!

^ He did take it personally and acted a bit pettily, but when you consider the fact that it wasn't the first time that a government official - and someone that he either trusted or had respect/affection for - had made a decision to which he was opposed, his reaction makes much more narrative character sense.

Guess what I found -- I finally get to have Christopher's autograph! Not sure when he'll be back in the US for conventions, and given my son's hectic schedule we're missed the last few big conventions (the ones not cancelled due to COVID).
