I cried and I usually reserve that for Doctors.

Yeah. :(

Yep CommanderM-crying for outgoing Doctors since Doctor Number 4. *mopes*

I cried watching "Vincent and the Doctor", gosh that ep was so sad and Tony Curran is just brilliant.
Ten's very last ep was hard to watch, I know even after seeing Eleven's face I was still crying. |
Vincent and the Doctor is an amazing episode. I'm naturally an empathetic person so thinking about how it would feel to learn that you become a hugely popular artist when you think you're not likely to be remembered by anyone is just :thud:
Oddly enough, I don't remember having a hugely emotional response to Eleven becoming Twelve. :look: I don't really know why... As for when Amy and Rory left, I was actually left confused for reasons I won't get into now, so that sort of put a damper on my feelings of sadness...this'll make more sense when you've watched the episode. :P  |
I finally watched "The Angels Take Manhattan" and boy oh boy, that was sad and heartbreaking to watch.
But overall I felt underwhelmed by it and thought the Ponds deserved a better exit. I felt that it was too much for a companion exit and would have preferred "Power of Three" to be their last seeing as they were already thinking of leaving the Doctor in that ep. I also read somewhere that Karen Gillan wanted a final exit for her character, one that would not require her to be back on the show. So I guess Moffat incorporated the Weeping Angels into the SL to make that happen. The paradox just made all the timey wimey thing really confusing but even though the Ponds technically lived, they wouldn't be able to see the Doctor and even Brian which is very sad. However, what happened to them is still in tune with how heartbreaking all the companion exits have been (at least on New Who). Maybe because Eleven isn't your favorite Doctor? Although Ten is my favorite, I do have a feeling that I'll cry at Eleven's regeneration ep when I watch it soon. :look:  I also finally watched those BTS vids of the ep and cried even more. Karen and Arthur crying on their last day and Karen crying during the graveyard scene. Matt Smith crying when he was reading the Afterword. UGH. |

Karen did want a final goodbye i think she wanted to end it and no having to always come back .. but it is doctor who anythig can happen |
And yet Karen was willing to come back and help see Matt Smith off in his final story.
|
That's very true.
I loved Vincent and the Doctor and it also made me cry. I also cried when Rory and Amy left. |

Yeah, I really have so many problems with the Ponds' exit. Plus, imo, it doesn't have to be that complicated.
