Interesting. Maybe she's something like Captain Jack? A fixed point in time? Hmm, I'll give it a try. Good episode overall, but the Christmas Invasion is still my favorite one.
Now, with that said... when is the next episode? __________________

I loved the special, great to see that Moffat didn't just include her in the series 7 opener for nothing, i'm already rather intrigued to see how her storyline is going to unfold.

Every new companion is great. Until they die.

This episode started a bit slow I think, but it only got better. It's not my favorite christmas special but it was amazing.
I love how they introduced Clara and I can't wait for Moffat to play with my head in the future episodes, but seriously April? I already love Clara so much and well, I've been a bit possessive over the Doctor and his romantic life, if he has one, but um...these two stole my heart. Can't wait to follow her journey and her birthday is on November 23th. I see what you did there Moffat, clever boy. Oh and do we have a Clara/Doctor thread? __________________

Shame we have to wait until April for more. I guess the upside is by then most US shows will be almost wrapped for the season. Leaving us something new to watch. __________________

Wow, I loved the Christmas special last night. Seeing a Dr. lost in apathy come back to being totally engaged. It was brilliant. Liking all the new additions to the cast as well. ACn we keep the little guy? Can't wait for the series to return in April.

My first thought: Wow, that snow looks really fake.
My second thought: I can't believe how crappy that fake snow looks. But that's what we get for BBC filming Christmas episodes in summer, and summer episodes in winter. __________________

I watched it last night, and to be honest, I'm still processing it. I will rewatch it tonight, but here are my first thoughts:
- I really like the new titles & theme. It is a lot like the classic openings and I like it. I like it much more than any of the other openings since 9. - I saw the Doctor and thought: Hey! he found his 8 wardrobe! - I like the new Tardis interior. I can't help but thinking that, as the title sequence, it's a homage to classic who. - I like Clara/Oswin so far. I'm not totally sold, but that always happens to me with new companions. I usually love them by the 3rd or 4th episode. . SIR IAN FREAKIN' MCKELLEN! But most of all, I LOVE the storyline, and LOVE that they brought back The Great Intelligence. I had watched "The Abominable Snowmen" some time ago (well, saw the ones that were kept and heard the audio of the missing parts). I really didn't know what the Christmas Special was about as I stayed away from sneak peeks and trailers, etc, so it was a pleasant surprise to have them bringing back this villain from the Second Doctor era. Now I really need to read "The Web of Fear" Last edited by Sursonica; 12-26-2012 at 08:42 AM |

Loved the Christmas Special, rewatching it now. I've been so starved for new Doctor Who and I don't want to have to think about how long it will be till we get a new episode.
It usually takes me a while to get used to new companions, but I've been smitten with Clara Oswin Oswald since the beginning of series 7 and the Christmas episode only strenghtened that. Not only am I already madly in love with her, but I'm also very intruiged to find out more about her storyline. In how many timelines does she exist and how? Quote:

I LOVED it!!! Already watched it quite a few times. I love Clara (not sure I've ever loved a companion this much so soon before), and I'm really intrigued about what's coming up for her. It's going to be awesome. The wait is going to suck!
I love the new titles, and the new Tardis interior. |
