I remember watching the doctor before getting the mod position and I hadn't watched any of the classic so I didn't know who Brig was so when they mention him on DW I didn't get why or why the doctor was so sad ? ... Now that I do I found it sweet and very sad his dying day and he wanted his old friend there

I had always heard RTD wanted him in it but he (Nick) wasnt well enough but then again he DID do the SJA appearance in 2008. makes it all the sadder that he only exists as a specially converted Cyberman as seen in the 2014 finale. Or did he self-destruct after that moment like the rest did a few seconds before?
