Nice that the Master got a shout-out in The Time of the Doctor, in the form of the High Council seal that the Doctor stole from him in The Five Doctors.

I think enough time has passed, they should bring back the Master soon. Although I still love John Simm, I'd even be happy if the Master came back played by someone else.

But John Simm is a close second. He was so gleeful about being bad, made me totally root for him.

Tbh ŵhen compared to Delgado, Simm is incredibly weak IMO. He's way to OTT and cheesy. When he plays it seriously (like the end of Utopia, most of the Sound of Drums and parts of End of Time Part 2) he's actually quite good. When he's prancing around to the Scissor Sisters or becoming a carnivore (eh?) he is just simply awful, cringeworthy and it just disgraces the character (not Simm's fault, but poor writing) and don't get me started on the drum beat that basically contradicted the entire character.

My rankings of Master
1. Roger Delgado (foregone conclusion, not even close)
2. Derek Jacobi (OK, he was only the Master for like 5 minutes, but he was damn good in that time, and probably better than Simm's entire tenure!)
3. Geoffrey Beavers (Been listening to more of the audios recently and he's superb and used more than he was in The Keeper of Traken)
4. Anthony Ainley (Cheesy but pretty good)
5. Peter Pratt (Brief but good performance in The Deadly Assassin)
6. John Simm (Would be last but his good bits in Utopia, Sound of Drums and End of Time Part 2 saves him)
7. Eric Roberts (I always DREZZZZZZ for the occasion. Yah. Moving on.)
