Final Classic Who DVD Removed From Schedule!
The BBC's DVD enquiry line have stated that the previously-adertised DVD release of The Underwater Menace has now been removed from release schedules, and that the viability of the title is being looked into.
This DVD would have been the last scheduled classic Doctor Who DVD and was set to contain the only existing Doctor Who episode not yet officially released on any format, Episode 2 of this serial, which was rediscovered in 2011. If you've been looking forward to the DVD of The Underwater Menace, please take a moment to let BBC Worldwide know you'd support its release! The number of enquiries about specific titles are passed on to the relevant departments periodically, so the more enquiries they receive the more demand they'll see for a DVD release. You can contact BBC Worldwide in any of the following ways:
There's also an online petition you can sign to show your support at http://tinyurl.com/savethefishpeople - at the time of writing it's nearing 900 signatures after only a few days. If you sign the petition, I'd strongly suggest also sending BBC Worldwide a direct message using one of the above methods, as direct contact is most likely to gain their notice! Please help show BBC Worldwide that there is still support for this release from fans! |
