Perception filter

Dear Santa,

Thank you for the fifth season with Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. It's July now, so I hope I didn't wake you but... honestly, it's going to be a long wait until the next christmas special and an much longer one till series 6 starts so... I've done a wish list for the next season.

My series 6 wishlist :

*More wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuffs (can't get enough of it)
*New monsters, characters and ennemies
*A story with Vashta Nerada
*A reasonnable amount of Daleks, Cyberman and other old vilains (not too much)
*A reasonnable amount of Rory (not too much)
*Amy learns to drive the Tardis
*Resurrection of The Fez
* ...

I would like to see the old school cybermen, draconians, rutan, yeti.

I liked what Perception Filter said ... a reasonable amount of past villains would be fine, but not too much. I liked how Moffat handled the old villains better than RTD did - the Silurian two-parter wasn't the best story of the series, but I did like the understated way they brought back the Silurians, focusing more on the story and less on the spectacle. In general though, I think they need to keep creating new villains, not just bring very old ones back.

But, if they were to bring back the Rutan (who only ever appeared in one story, as did the Draconians), they should also have the Sontarans, and finally show the war between the two.

I don't think anyone but the Doctor should know how to drive the TARDIS. Not only should TARDISes in general be too complicated for anyone but Time Lords to drive, but the Doctor's TARDIS in particular should be so quirky and lashed together that only the Doctor should really know how to use it (like in The Lodger, where Amy had to stand in a particular place to use a particular control).

Otherwise, I like Perception Filter's list. One of my own that I'd add - more Time Lords. I found the Time Lord's return in The End of Time a bit of a letdown, I'd like to see Moffat have a go.

- Well, naturally I want more River Song. But given her and The Doctor's talk at the end of "The Big Bang," I think that's probably a given. And I can't wait! (I also want them to expand more on the River-Amy friendship. I love their little team.)
- I want to see Jenny come back and reveal to her dad that she didn't really die. (And then I want it revealed how she came back, but didn't have to regenerate to do so.) I also think it would be hilarious if Jenny and Amy met. I'm trying to imagine how much trouble they'd cause The Doctor!
- More Rory and Amy, I cannot get enough of them!
- More wibbly wobbly, timey wimey. Moffat does it best!
- New monsters, characters, and enemies. While it is good to keep continuity with the past, you still need to be original.

I'd like the closure of the whole River Song arc tbh. It's truly frustrating not knowing who she was. If they want to tease it a bit longer, then I'd like some more direct hints, not too obvious ones

I want the Fez to remake an appearance. MS is totally one of the very few who can pull it off

More Rory/Doctor bonding. I love the scenes the two shared in S5. Want more

A bit more information on Amy. Not necessarily loads but I'd like to find out a little more. I sometimes feel like we don't know an awful lot about her

First of all, and most importantly, I want more Rory! He was my highlight of this past series and quickly became my second favourite companion
Also, I want Jack to meet Eleven! I really liked how Moffat wrote Jack, so that should be a blast.

Jenny would also be great Especially now that the Doctor regenerated, and would probably have to explain that to Amy

Hadn't thought about that, but Amy finding out about regeneration would definitely be interesting. (And I'm also trying to imagine the look on Rory's face as he tries to explain it to them. And I don't think The Doctor's age has ever really sunken in for Amy. Maybe if she met Jenny, who looks about her own age, maybe it would.) Speaking of looks, The Doctor and Jenny now no longer look like they could be father and daughter, with The Doctor looking so young. (I think Matt and Georgia are only two years apart in age.) When someone asks them if they're siblings - or dating - that'll be awkward!

Well, if Rory can come back when he never existed I'm sure they can bring back the fez too.

The problem is to know how Amy and Rory would react to a Doctor/Fez dynamic in the Tardis.

I think that rory would have no issue with they doctor/fez dymanic, Amy on the other hand might have issues with the hat.

I've said this on other boards - especially the Professor Song LJ Community - but if River, Jenny, and Amy were all in one episode together...poor, poor Doctor!

River and Amy are bad enough when they get together and gang up on him. Add Jenny into the mix and The Doctor doesn't stand a chance in the universe!

Hmm, my series 6 wishlist echoes most of the above.

- River Song! Not sure if I want the conclusion to her story next season or not, but I definitely want more of her!
- Jenny. I would love to see her return for an episode or two. Also explaining her to Amy and Rory would be hilarious.
- Keep the Daleks to a single episode again (they really weren't in the finale much so I'm not counting those eps). I mean I adore the Daleks, but RTD always seemed to overuse them. Series 5 was very refreshing in that regards.
- Captain Jack! Because come on, he needs to hit on Amy.

And now I'm adding the fez to my list, because that was absolutely hilarious!

Well it wouldn't really be Rivers Ending it would be her start, after we already know that she is going to die at the Library.

To paraphrase the Doctor .. Amy and Captain Jack meeting, I don't think history could take it.

Funny, I'm having a hard time picturing what a meeting betweel Jack and the Eleventh Doctor would look like.

I have another item for the S6 wishlist - no regeneration. And I wouldn't be adverse to keeping Amy/Rory around after S6 either.
