I like the way Peter Capaldi was showing his older self a sonic screwdriver and sunglasses, and the older one didn't know what they were. He should've shown him how psychic paper works. I saw a Cyberman in the beginning of the episode, and I thought that Cybermen weren't introduced to the first Doctor.

The first Doctor met the Cybermen. Actually his fight with the Cybermen is what caused him to need to regenerate and become the Second Doctor. It was his last adventure

Well I know he never met the angel statues, but Daleks and Cybermen are the two most famous for alien villains on Doctor Who. It looks like I got my wish to see Jodi Whitaker in an episode where they do a rundown of the various Doctors. What makes them decide when to regenerate to another actor?

I suppose that is down to each individual actor, there isn't really a hard rule on it, but Troughton's idea of 3 years (maybe 4 maximum) and move on is a good one. It is enough time for the actor to develop their Doctor, and also the turn over keeps it fresh. It's the same with the James Bond films, where I think 4 films should be the target for any Bond actor, after that, they should consider stepping down for the same reasons as any Doctor.

I agree. I like having a new Doctor every few years.

Do they have something that's the equivalent of medical tricorders on Doctor Who since this is the only other sci-fi fantasy series that deals with beaming?

I don't remember seeing a handheld medical tricorder on Doctor Who but I have not seen every single ep so it's possible that it made an appearance at some point.

Yeah he's not really a medical Doctor so I think it wouldn't be something that he regularly carried.

Does this mean that someone couldn't reproduce on Doctor Who without losing their virginity? With Star Trek, all you'd have to do is use a medical tricorder to scan the coordinates and feed them into a transporter and beam a male reproductive cell into a girl; but you'd obviously have to do that with both parties.

I honestly have no idea. I would assume that reproduction on Doctor Who would happen the same way it does in the real world. But they have never addressed reproduction on the show other than River Song and I am pretty sure she was conceived the old fashion way.

I didn't realize that that was the way they reproduced in Star Trek. Can you tell me where (the episode and show name) in the Star Trek universe that that form of reproduction was introduced?

They do use the primitive way of reproduction for the most part on Star Trek, but Q doesn't reproduce that way, and Troi had one child through an alternative method. I guess my feelings are that I wish the Lord would take away the feelings and provide reproduction in the manner that I described because there have been way too many incidents where you get sexual predators who break the law and expect to get away with it. BTW, the Doctor is a she, not a he as of right now. I believe someone may have mentioned something about cloning being a reality on Doctor Who, so that's one way of asexual reproduction. I did some research, and I read that a human clone could be done for 50 grand or as little as 10 grand. It's more complicated to understand than using the beaming technology I described. The beauty of the beaming technology is that it can reduce the pain a girl goes through to give birth because there was an episode of Voyager where the ship's doctor beamed a child out of someone who was in labor.

That's interesting. I didn't remember those storylines about Q, Troi, or the person on Voyager. It's been while since I have seen those series though.

I also didn't realize that human cloning was so cheap. I am not sure that's a great way for reproduction though because you are essentially recreating the same person. Reproduction creates a new person from the genes of two other people.

I kinda see what you mean about the cloning, which from what I've been told here, has been done on Doctor Who. Now if the Doctor or any of the characters has the ability to do internal scans with those sunglasses or sonic screwdriver, then the beaming method should be doable on this series. As for the wrongness of the sexual method, a lot of people agree that rape is wrong.
