Where are you atm? Are you enjoying your travels? :)

BlondieLeigh 09-19-2015 05:27 PM

Watching it now. A bit late because I'm sick and didn't want to watch when I couldn't focus. Paracetamol has kicked in now.

scififan2009 09-19-2015 06:10 PM

That was intense.

BlondieLeigh 09-19-2015 06:17 PM

So intense!! Quite a good episode to start off with too. I wonder how much we'll be seeing of Missy.

The Survivor 09-19-2015 07:06 PM

Wow that was amazing.

scififan2009 09-19-2015 07:39 PM

I'll say this for Moffat. He really knows how to hook you in those first few minutes.

Almeida's Army 09-19-2015 08:22 PM

I found that episode... frustrating. Because the first 15-20 minutes were amazing, and the last 15-20 minutes were amazing. But where the episode fell down, as most Moffat's stories do, is that they try too hard to force humour. I mean, that whole guitar on a tank was just cringeworthy beyond words. Simply horrifying. Same, at times, with Missy. When she plays it relatively straightforward, she is fine. Not great, but fine. But when she does the camp OTT stuff just makes me cringe. This story suffers from the same sins that the new series often suffers from- forced, unfunny humour, rather then let it just breath naturally from the delivery of the actors. However, the rest of the story was absolutely fantastic. But it was so so close to being the best story of NuWho so far and it just fell slightly short due to the show making the same mistakes it always makes...

I can only assume we haven't seen the last of Clara or Missy.

Fantastic start to the new season, good we look to have a season focused on the Daleks, can't wait to see more.

Will there be a behind the scenes show to go with each ep?

Possibly. But I think those extras are only on iview or iTunes.

Enjoyed the episode. :) And the Tom Baker clip lampshading that they're redoing an old storyline.

To be (very) charitable it was a nod to Peter Capaldi's past life, but yes it was cheesy as hell. As for Missy going OTT again, I keep wishing that Charles Dance hadn't been too busy to be the Master and they went that way instead.

I'm wondering if Missy turn good for awhile. I love Gomez and what she put into the character as a female. She still makes the Master (Mistress) still crazy.

Yes yes and yes again! I've been saying since Capaldi was announced as the Doctor that Dance would be utterly perfect as the Master
