that shirt is AMAZING! Not really fitting for me though because Nine was my first Doctor, but Ten definitely is 'my' Doctor

See, I love both of them, but prefer Nine so much more.

Same with me! Even though I still love Nine.

Nine was my first, so he's always been my Doctor

I did too I've been really impressed with David's performance in season 3 though, especially in Human Nature/Family Of Blood, and now like him almost as much as Nine. Almost

He has a special place in my heart as well.

I love that t-shirt!

I'd love to have one of those. And "the angels have the blue box" one.

Baker was genius in the role. Best ever. Eccelston was great, so much better than 10. 10 is good in some ways but overall I find him inadequate. The 10th Doctor comes off as too much of a lightweight and too much of a schoolboy.

My favourites are FIVE and TEN.

FIVE... Peter Davidson... was my first Doctor. Got to love a cricket playing Doctor!

Also quite like SEVEN and NINE.

luvin: Awesome T-shirt!

Everything I know about cricket, I learned from Doctor Who and the HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Five for me is a tough one. I like Peter Davison well enough, but the Fifth Doctor didn't really stand out for me. He wasn't as fun and eccentric as some of the other Doctors, celery notwithstanding - he was too sincere, too earnest.

The way I understand it, they purposely avoided humour with the Fifth Doctor as some kind of contrast to the previous Doctor, Tom Baker. Which is a shame, because Davison can be a funny guy. He cracks me up in some of his commentaries - in particular, I recommend the commentary for the Caves of Androzani, where he starts ranting about his dramatic sacrifice and regeneration scene being totally undermined by Peri's breasts hanging over his face.

I didn't really care much for the FIfth Doctor's companions either, though I've learned to appreciate them better through the audio plays.

Raonaild: I learned about cricket as a little girl by watching cricket matches at City Park in Winnipeg with my grandparents and my great uncle. My grandfather and his brother were both cricket mad. My great uncle was some sort of cricket official... so we got to sit in the pavilion and eat cucumber sandwiches and drink lemonade during the match.

FIVE is my favourite I think in large part because he was my first. I started watching Dr Who by chance during the 80s. Was flipping channels and landed on the show. One of the PBS stations that I get via cable was airing Dr Who five days a week... all the episodes in rotation... so I was able to watch the series from the beginning several times while also watching the new episodes.

That's interesting that you didn't find FIVE all that funny... because I found him hilarious. But then again... when I first saw the episodes with FIVE... I hadn't seen the episodes with Tom Baker. Both FOUR and FIVE were humorous in my opinion... but in very different ways. FIVE was way more low key and subtle in his humour. I found FIVE's being so very earnest amusing... because he was being so sincere and earnest amongst such chaos.

But then again... probably would have had a very different opinion if I had got to know FOUR first.

I find five disappointing. I liked him in Castrovalva but mostly I find him pretty colorless. And I think he was too young to play the Doctor, same goes for Tennant. I find Tennant overrated, the huge Tennant popularity gets on my nerves a bit, seeing as I don't see any reason why he should overshadow Eccelston, who did a great job. But the most seriously overrated Doctor was Troughton. In some places if you don't worship Troughton you get stomped.

Not much cricket around here (although you do see the occassional game in the local parks), hockey is THE sport in this country.

I prefer curling myself. I'll be playing again in a few weeks when the season starts.

It's not that I don't find him funny, it's that the scripts during his time were intentionally trying to not be funny. I think if Davison had had his way, the 5th Doctor would have been a bit more playful and less serious.

Despite the fact that I'm not the biggest fan of the 5th Doctor, I have to admit that some of the best Big Finish audio plays were written for that Doctor. One of my favourites is The Kingmaker - besides being a clever story, the 5th Doctor was also quite funny in that one.
