I'm not having a very good day for one, the weather is AWFUL, and we also heard today that our neighbour, who's been in a coma for about a month now, will probably never get out of it, he's practically a vegetable... I didn't know him that well but I know some of his family members and it's SO hard to see them like this!

And especially knowing how he got to this state - how unfair it all is.... He was a housepainter and he was minding his own business and painting a wall when some insane person (not just saying that, this man actually is mentally unstable) came up to him and hit him on the head with a shovel - with the SHARP end - from behind. For no reason at all. He never even saw it coming and it pretty much cracked his entire skull open and they had to surgically remove the shovel from his brain. It's a miracle that they were even able to keep him alive in the first place...

Yeah, sorry for the not-so-nice story but I just needed to rant for a minute I don't get this world, I don't get this world at all.

That really is awful. I think a coma is almost worse than dying- there's always going to be that hope there that they're going to wake up. At least with death, it's over, you know?

Uck. People who think they're superior to others for ANY reason piss me off. Somehow it being to do with academics seems to make it okay. Like I overhead a girl yesterday- a middle-class Durham University student, obviously, who, on the whole, are rather up their arses on Mummy and Daddy's pay whack- saying "I don't even know why I hang about with her, she only speaks one language and she mucks out horse**** for a living." Uh? Okay?

That is a new level of snobbery. Yes, being able to speak two or three or even four languages is amazing and clever and, yes, maybe caring for horses isn't the most academic career ever, but, if that "friend" of hers is enjoying what she does for a living, what does it matter how educated she is?

Actually yes he does! It's not so much one of those situations where we've made our list of celebrities we would be allowed to sleep with like the one Ross got laminated in Friends though

He knows I have minor... and maybe not so minor crushes on a few guys. It's alright, I made him admit to having a crush on a certain TV presenter last week!
