GG Episode Discussion 7.14 - Farewell, My Pet (Feb. 13)
Episode 7.14 - Farewell, My Pet
Airdate: February 13th Writer: Jennie Snyder Director: Jamie Babbit The CW: LORELAI AND CHRISTOPHER CONFRONT THEIR PROBLEMS - Two days after his by-pass surgery, Richard is on the road to recovery, and Rory returns to Yale, where she finds that Richard's economics class is now being taught by an attractive young professor, Tucker Culbertson (guest star Cameron Bender), who flusters Rory with his charm. While Lorelai (Lauren Graham) tries to distract herself from the issues in her marriage, she and Sookie focus on planning a funeral for one of Michel's beloved dogs. Finally, Christopher returns ready to talk, and he and Lorelai discuss the main problem that has haunted their marriage - Lorelai's feelings for Luke (Scott Patterson. Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena, Liza Weil and Matt Czuchry also star.) __________________

Im so glad to be rid of Chris! I loved this episode, Lauren was fantastic. Normally her crying makes me real uncomfortable but she was great tonight.

Well I was once again BORED to pieces this week HOWEVER can I just say that LG gave an A++++++++ performance at the end. She literally had me crying and it takes ALOT to do that to me!
Other then that. Glad we saw Kirk but the whole episode was a pure yawner. No offense I didn't care for the Michel dog funeral. I though perhaps it would be somewhat entertaining but it wasn't. Logan and Rory once again bored me to sleep. And even Paris wasn't all the quirky like usual. I hope by next week we get back to a bit of normalcy considering they showed clips of Miss Patty and Babette doing their usual town gossip. poor Gigi without a mommy once again! until next week...... I thought this was a great episode. All the characters seemed to actually be in character. And Lauren kicked some serious butt in that last scene. Her crying scenes are always amazing!

I actually liked the scene when Chris came to the DFI more than the last one. She actually stood up for herself and seemed to have guts. Not so wishy-washy.
I didn't care for Rory thinking she was a monster for having a crush. Come on. I actually loved Zach for the first time. The look on his face when she gave him the 'My Heart Will Go On' booklet was priceless. __________________

I have figured out the key to watching Gilmore Girls, just like Luke figured out the secret of parenting... only this is for real.
Go into an episode with absolutely no expectations, whatsoever. Seriously. I loved that episode so much, and it only had 10 seconds of Luke in it, (the L&L look totally made up for it.) Emotion, people. Emotion. That's what Gilmore Girls has been lacking, and *finally* I feel like this is the Gilmore Girls I love. I don't care that most emotional scene was between L&C, because when there's emotion involved, there's truth. The plain cold truth is that Lorelai still has feeling for Luke. She reacted to the break-up by jumping into another relationship, and Chris pushed it by asking her to elope. As much as she wants to be with the father of her child, the fact is they aren't right together... and at last we see Lorelai not willing to settle for a relationship that isn't right. And hey, I'm the first to admit I'm a Neshbe through and through, but I'm really glad DR wrote Chris out of Lorelai's love life in a respectable, but final way. May he fly to France and marry Sherry, or Gigi's babysitter, and live happily ever after just-not-in-stars-hollow. Now, bring on the LL scenes. __________________

That ep was great. I loved everything except Rory's crush on the TA. That was soooo lame. Well Rory herself isn't better.
I loved the last scene especially because I had the feeling that both seem to agree that a separation would be the best. I always feared that Chris would try to win her back as he always did but no, he was great! And finally the old Lorelai seems to come back. But it will be a long way back to a LL relationship. I think we'll see them back together in 7.22. Lorelai needs to be alone and become the strong woman I always loved again. Poor Chin Chin and Michel. The whole funeral was insane and so much GG style, I had to laugh all the time especially when Michel wanted to set up the details for the funeral and Lorelai and Sookie didn't have a clue what to do. __________________

I was just happy that Chris was able to admit that he may have taken advantage of Lorelai when she was so vulnerable. It was nice to see him not be a jerk for once.
