Tftnt :) And such a very true title. I miss my weekly dose of the Bravermans :pout:

In case you're interested. I read the original pilot script of Parenthood and wrote a comment about the differences to the episode we've seen on TV. They left out some great scenes and I have the feeling the original pilot was better than the aired version but well, I'm not a fan of the pilot.

I'm reading right now, nice surprise on my f-list on lj. :) Thanks so much, must have been quite a long work to do.

thanks for the new thread! perfect title. :D

*off to read the pilot script*

Danke 06-15-2010 12:47 PM

Thanks Ele for all the work and letting us all now about the differencies  I love it and I wish we could see those missing scenes cos I feel they would help to the pilot to be more organic. And I sure would like to see the longer versions of the talks with Drew!!!

I would have liked that as well, maybe Lauren was too cold in the rain. lol. I love the scene with Kristina and Sarah watching Crosby's girlfriend playing twister. There's really a lot more bonding between Kristina and Sraha going on that we've seen on screen.

Copop 06-15-2010 01:13 PM

Thanks so much Ele :D

Ele, thanks for all the work! There's so much scenes in there that I would have loved to see. Especially the ass one and the joint one lol.
Also so interesting to read the differences between the original script and what's actually said/done.

Laurenislove 06-15-2010 02:05 PM

Finished reading the orginal script! it was very intresting. I loved the part with sarah and kristina bonding. shame that was not in the aired version.

Thanks for sharing Ele :D

I remember the missing bits from the pilot, including the lead up to Amber and Haddie getting arrested and the scenes with her friends. Pity that was not in the pilot, maybe it should have been even longer than we got?

BTW Ele the link is not working for me, I'm getting this...

ETA - oh it's working now... lots more that I had not read before. of course they had to make changes switching cities but it really feels like it could have been a full 2 hour pilot to fit everything in better.

Awesome review Ele - love it, thanks! :)

LAUREN GRAHAM as SARAH BRAVERMAN, PARENTHOOD
The former star of “Gilmore Girls” is considered to be one of the most unrewarded actresses on television after failing to reap any Emmy love for her work on that series. The difference now is that she’s on NBC instead of the WB, which increases her chances a million times over. She may have some trouble sneaking past some of her tougher competition, but this is a role that fits her like a glove, and that certainly helps.
Just another review of the Emmy ballot - I'm starting to feel that Parenthood will be overlooked in a similar way to Friday Night Lights - they're both awesome shows and it BUGS me!

Emmys. I switch from hopeful to (fake) "I don't care" to pissed off about them. Tough matter.
Thanks for the review Cee, really sweet. :)
