Early DVD Details

Film is on track to break the USD100 million (in US excl. overseas figures) next week

ETA: A quote about LG from one of the various Australian papers....

Even worse is the way the excellent adult cast is wasted, in particular Lauren Graham who was so wonderful in Bad Santa but here is reduced to anodyne love interest.

It's doing really well here since it's still in the Top 10!

Well The Pacfier opened in my country this week.

The reviews were less than promising and not one mention of Lauren Graham because local tv channel has stopped airing GG since Season 4 ended its run in December.

Oh well...

Hane where abouts to do you live? Poland or a country that isn't on the list? (if so, I'll add it to the list)

Haha its okayz. But did I give you any impression that I was Polish? Never ever been there though I travel quite a bit...

Haha, yeah, the Singapore Sling is a pretty popular tourist marketing tool. Locals don't really drink it though.

I love Sydney though. Hope to retire there actually... Get a place by one of the coastal bays... Oops that's thinking too far!

lol nope - I think it was because you said it opened this week and Poland was the only thing that had it opening this week *g*

I don't drink SS my parents always drink one when they go there.

He he Sydney is great for that - unfortunately it's raining right now *grr*

I'm waiting for the Australian BO figures for TP to be released - it's school holidays here at the moment and last week (when not all states were on school holidays) the takings increased and it finished equal 2nd for the week - so I think after this week it might very well take over Miss Congeniality 2 at the box office.

Whoa, 2nd for the week huh? I'll be happy if it hits top 5 in Singapore because all the reviews made TP sound ultra boring and not worth watching..

Looks like Vin's press junket in Spain paid off *g*

This has just hit the Reuters headlines.

'Sahara' Reigns in U.K.; 'Pacifier' Tops in Oz

SYDNEY (Hollywood Reporter) - "Sahara" burned up screens in the United Kingdom, "The Pacifier" swiped the top spot in Australia, "The Ring Two" distracted Italians from the pope's funeral, and "The Interpreter" translated well in its first international territory, Greece, according to weekend estimates.

In Australia, it was a close struggle between "Sahara," with $1.1 million from 183 cinemas, and ultimate champion "The Pacifier," which expanded nationwide to 253 cinemas in its third week and took about $50,000 more.[/b]

"The Pacifier" opened at No. 1 in Spain with $1.8 million at 302 sites, up 20% on both "Daddy Daycare," and "Cheaper by the Dozen." It also triumphed in Belgium with a very good bow of $509,000. The cume for the Vin Diesel comedy stands at $3.4 million.

*****

Regarding Australia - it should also go well this week since it's school holidays for another 2 weeks in some states (aka NSW) - so that figure could rise even more (I'd say it'll finish around the AUD7 million mark. (I'll revise that once I get the official Aussie figures that will be released today) - that being said it's screen average compared to Sahara is f***ed

You do realise that the UK premiere is in May - there's nothing stopping Lauren from heading over there for it *g*

I'm amazed at how well The Pacifier is doing. Because, its really quite a crappy movie.. (Sorry!)
Apart from Lauren being in it for 10 mins...

Oh well, all's good.

Bottom Line when it comes to The Pacifier it's a typical formulatic Disney Film - that's what it is - so that's the reason it's doing well and also the reason it's being panned big time

But $100 million domestically - Considering the pundits thought it would make $60 million tops - it has far exceeded their expectations and because of this plus worldwide sales + DVD release, etc it'll break even and be in profit *g*

Haha, seriously I don't mind since Lauren is in it.

But Disney has been falling flat on its nose in its movie/business ventures, not to mention its upcoming divorce with Pixar. All is not well for Disney financially.

Haha, I guess LG will be earning quite a bit from the royalties. More cash to find the perfect pair of jeans!
