I've debated about whether to go in winter or when it's warmer; I think the advantage of winter is the northern lights. Christine, it sounds like you had an awesome trip! I have a couple Christmas parties coming up, but luckily things aren't too crazy for me right now. __________________

If you want to go in winter I would suggest February. There are still Northern Lights then but you have more daylight than in December. Going on tours when you have only 5 hours of daylight can be difficult. __________________

Hope everyone had a good weekend.
I saw Rogue One on Friday, worked for a few hours on Saturday, and have been watching the Star Wars marathon on TV today (episodes IV - VI). And trying to straighten my house up. Also made homemade chicken curry for dinner. __________________

Hey everyone!
Christine- is the new Star Wars good? I've never watched them, but I think Jay might like to go. I've been working a lot. I have a couple of days off before Christmas, but then from Christmas onwards I work every day, including NYE at night. Not too happy with this. __________________

Sorry about your work schedule, Val. That's no fun.
Christine, how was Rogue One? I tried to catch up on movies this weekend and went to see Moonlight and Manchester by the Sea, both of which I loved. I have a bit of last-minute shopping to do, but mostly I'm ready for Christmas! __________________

I liked Rogue One a lot.
If you like Star Wars at all, I think you will like it. It's different enough to be interesting, but is also very familiar feeling in that it's very much the Star Wars universe. And a couple of familiar characters make appearances. I'm mostly ready for Christmas. Just need to bake some cookies on Friday. My family is doing our family dinner on Christmas Eve. So I have Christmas day free. Might go see a movie. I also want to see Manchester By the Sea. __________________

My schedule sucks probably mostly because I'm the new one there... hopefully next year I can take a week or so off and celebrate Christmas in the States with Jay's family, since he celebrated last year and this year with mine. I want to bake some Christmas cookies too, Christine! Got some appropriately-shaped cookie cutters from my mom today. __________________

Yep, I'm going to Colorado to visit my parents! I'll leave Saturday and be there for about a week. I'm looking forward to it.
It seems logical that next year you'd get time off and would be able to visit the States, Val! I need to bake, too! __________________

Christmas was good. Hung out on Christmas Eve with my 2 sisters, their husbands, 4 nephews, 1 niece-in-law, and a sleeping great nephew (he's just one). We had a good dinner, then ate cookies while we played games.
Christmas day I saw Collateral Beauty. It was good. I also had the 26th off work which was nice. I started watching The Man in the High Castle on Amazon. I'm just halfway through season 1 so far. I was quite sad yesterday to learn of Carrie Fisher's death. I've always liked Star Wars and she was too young to go. And then today to learn that her mom passed away, it's too sad. __________________

I was really sad too, Christine.
I also enjoyed Christmas. It was good to be in Colorado with my parents, and it was a very white Christmas (I flew in Christmas Eve just before a snowstorm hit, which lasted through Christmas day). I just arrived back home in New York and was happy to be greeted by my cats, who seemed to miss me very much. __________________

My cats always seem to miss me too, when I'm gone for a while. They follow me around for days, and purr. It's nice to feel missed.
Glad you got to enjoy a white Christmas. We had a little bit of snow on the 23rd, maybe an inch, and there was a little bit left on the grass on Christmas day, so I guess it was *technically* a white Christmas. But not really. Lol. __________________
