It's not unusual for Lauren not to stay for the movie. In fact they're not obliged. Lucky she even showed up. Some A-listers do snub their own premieres. I feel sorry for those who spend on premium tickets for these special screenings (they cost an arm and a leg, $40.00 buckaroos!). I myself don't mind spending that much as long as I get more bang for my buck. Also, some directors let their stars say a word or two up on stage. I had hoped Marc would do that. But that would be pushing my luck anyways. It could be possible that Lauren stayed in the visa lounge backstage. But waiting that long? She probably snuck out the back door. If I wasn't working, I would've left the theatre and catch her at the back entrance. Unfortunately they don't allow people to go back inside the theatre to watch the film. But, hey, at least I'd have Lauren to myself even for a second or two. Granting no one else had the same idea. But then again it was raining so I doubt Lauren would've stopped to sign autographs or take photos with fans.
Here's a witty quip at the premiere: before introducing Marc, the TIFF moderator said they actually let the rain happen that day in keeping with the movie's theme...good one!
