does anyone know why it was cancelled??

This is just a guess, but probably for financial reasons, or shooting conflicts.

George Lucas Talks Star Wars: Episode III
Wednesday, January 15, 2003 12:11 CST Roger Friedman has published at Fox News the continued story on his conversation with George Lucas which included the following Star Wars: Episode III bits... "I know what I want to do," he said, "it was mapped out from my original writing for 30 years. But still you have these two pieces — Clones and Chapter IV — and you have to make them fit together. You're going to see a lot about Anakin and Luke and Princess Leia's mother, all the adults. And of course Luke and Leia will be infants in it." I asked him whether he cared about the criticism of Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin in Clones. "Not a bit," Lucas said, "this is a talented kid. Years from now people are going to say, was he always so good, and look at Clones, and realize yes." |
Cool, yeah I agree that Hayden did a good job on Episode II.

Has anyone read or heard any further news about "Other Side of Simple"?
What is happening with "Nailed Right In" also. Hayden is supposed to be starring in this with Johnny Depp! I know Johnny is doing "Pirates" right now with Orli but I wonder when "Nailed" is starting! [ 01-17-2003: Message edited London2LA ] |

Just weeks before it was to go into production, the New Line Cinema thriller "The Other Side of Simple" has been put on hold by the studio because of "scheduling conflicts." The film, which was to star Hayden Christensen, Don Cheadle and Vince Vaughn for director Joseph Ruben, was described as being in the vein of "The Usual Suspects." New Line offered no further explanation for the delay, but sources said several cast members had fallen out of the project in recent weeks. While the studio emphasized that "Simple" is not a dead project, there is no timetable for a new start.
