Ok I will but tomorrow, it's pretty late here now.

In the mean time, I guess I could share with you guys my first, very simple attempt at making icons.

It was about time to start it.

Yeah, the previous one had lasted long enough.

Thanks! And yes, you're right.

Well, I guess I could tell what's shaking in my life, what has been shaking since the last time I posted in the OT thread. If you're not interested in reading long ramblings on mah personal life, you can skip the next part.

Let's see, what was the last time I posted here? Oh yeah, I graduated. I know I'm super late with this but thanks to everyone for the congrats! I haven't had a chance to have any kind of party yet but if everything goes as planned, I may have one on the 2nd weekend of August.

I'll post just a short recap of on my trip to Helsinki on June 13-17. I left on the 13th and stopped about the halfway to spend the night at a friend's who was gonna accompany me to the trip. Next morning (Sat 14) we took a train to Helsinki. After arriving there we took another, local train to the neighboring city where Ari and the band were signing autographs at a supermarket. So I got my album cover signed (the new album that had been released a couple of days earlier). After that we got back to Helsinki and settled in our hotel room. As we were getting ready for the gig that night, the fire alarm went off and everyone had to exit the hotel and wait in the street. It was a false alarm, fortunately.

We went to the club where the gig happened sometime around 10 pm (I think) and met lots and lots of old and new friends and fellow fans. And the gig started around midnight and lasted for about 1.5 hours and it the best gig ever! Great new songs and all the best old songs and Ari and the band sounded better than ever. And every single person there was there to LISTEN to the gig so no hassle at all, no pushing or anything like that! And Ari looked so happy, he was practically glowing, and it felt just like a big family reunited with all the fans and the band rocking. My friend and I surely jammed to the music throughout the whole gig, I've never had so much fun and got so hot! And my friend said that the other guitarist, who had a clear view to our spot, was apparently laughing at us cos we were partying so much. To make an amazing gig perfect, the band wanted to do an encore ("we don't want to stop playing!") so they played Deep Purple's Burn, it was awesome!

Next day (Sun 15) we went to the other neighboring city of Helsinki. There was a music festival there, outdoors, the first one I've ever been to. We were there to see Ari and he was the best that day for sure. The sun even started to shine just when him and the band were about to start their gig, it had been cloudy/rainy before. They were awesome! We mostly sat at the food/drinks area during most of the other bands' gigs but I checked out one other band before the finale where two former lead singers of Rainbow did all the oldies of that band. One of them also happened to be an ex-lead singer of Deep Purple (Joe Lynn Turner) and also he did Burn in the end of the night and Ari joined him on the stage! It was great. After the festival ended we got back to Helsinki. The night didn't end there, we went to a pub with some friends, where they were having an open jam, and JLT came there too and performed and Ari was drumming (he used to be a drummer before he realized he can sing a few years ago). It was great! My friend and I had never attended a jam like that, seeing we don't live in Helsinki, so it was an awesome, probably once-in-a-lifetime experience for us.

On Monday 16th I spent the afternoon with Maria as you know. We had so much fun, we walked around the city, ate strawberries and icecream and then went to the restaurant we ate at last year when I saw Maria in Helsinki. And we had the most delicious meal there! I like the restaurant. It was really awesome to spend a few hours with Maria, hope to do it again soon!

After that my friend and I went to the Olympic Stadium to wait for our ride home (a tourist bus) to arrive so we could drop our bags off before the Bon Jovi concert. In the meantime we bought Bon Jovi t-shirts, I got a tour shirt. Then our bus arrived and after we had dropped our bags off, we went in to the Stadium. We had tickets to the Golden Circle which was an area right in front of the stage in the field. We were like some dozens of meters away from the stage, we could see so well! Finally the concert started and it rocked! We got to hear all the hits (except Something For the Pain which was the only song I was missing); Livin' On A Prayer, It's My Life, Always, Bad Medicine, You Give Love A Bad Name, Runaway, In These Arms during which I called my sister since she freaking loves the song! The concert lasted for about 2 hours, I think, and we were totally high after it. We took a bus ride home immediately after, which wasn't that nice, I was dead tired but couldn't sleep properly... We arrived at my friend's hometown around 6 am on Tuesday morning and I spent the rest of the night/morning at her place again before I took a train home. I loved the trip, definitely one of the best ever!

After that I spent the rest of June at home before I moved to my sister's apartment on June 30 before my job started on July 1. My sis has been working in another town for June and July so her place was empty, and it's pretty close to my work. I've liked it here and I definitely like my job. I'm working at the District Court, I was there two years ago too so it's familiar though I've had to slowly bring everything back from the back of my memory. But it's nice there, everyone is so friendly and helpful and there are a lot of young people (such as "Blondie" ) there this year too so I'm really enjoying myself! It's just that I'm not accustomed to waking up at 6 am every morning so I'm lacking sleep a lot.

I attended my cousin's wedding in the early July as I mentioned. It was nice, this cousin and his brothers are like the brothers we never had to my sisters and I. My family and I also went back to my old studytown of Rovaniemi in the Finnish Lapland a couple of weeks ago, spent a weekend there and it was really nice. I have pics about everything mentioned above, I'll post them in the photo thread.

I'm at my sister's apartment at the moment. She actually got back today, her summer job ended, but she'll let me live here next week too, till the end of the month. Tomorrow I'm leaving on a mini trip, another Ari gig ahead (my 13th)! I'm gonna stay overnight, I'm really looking forward to this cos it's the 3rd gig in that town and the previous two have seriously rocked. On Sunday night, after I get back, I'm going home, apparently we're having a BBQ with the family. And on Monday we're having one again, this time only my sisters & I and some friends, our parents will be on a camp with my nephew.

Ok, I think that's all. It wasn't such a short recap after all! Well, thanks to everyone who read it!

Hi everyone
I'm Fatimah for those who don't know.

Laura, I'm so glad you had fun in Finland! I've always wanted to see the Kiasma in Helsinki. You got Bon Jovi tour T shirts? Lucky. (I freakin' love Bon Jovi )

Maria, DK was incredible. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a movie where I loved every character.

Nice to meet you Szilvia.

I agree. DK was just amazing! Batman, Harvey, JOKER. Everyone was fantastic

I watched Aaron Eckhart (the actor who plays Harvey Dent) on Live with Regis and Kelly a few days ago, he's so charming.

Likewise!

It was a long movie, but you know, that didn't bother me. The story kept me interested throughout.

Aaron was terrific - I've seen him before in something, but I can't recall what it was.

I love long movies because they turn out to be good most of the time.

He's been in other movies. The first time I saw him was in a Coors Light commercial from way back when!

I agree - most of the long movies I've seen were great and worth the extra film.

I remember now, he's in No Reservations - I saw him on the DVD cover in the video store.

Was the cover like this?

Oh, that was definitely a long one! Great movie.

Yep, that's the cover I saw. My sister said it was a pretty good film.
