It seems our initial remarks on that blogger's review were right ... she didn't like that he took the risk of making the songs more rock but I thought that'll be one of the things we'll actually like about it.

I think the more rock approach works really well for his voice and style of writing, it sounds good on those songs.

Actually got around to listening to it a few days back, really good album! So many good songs, I'll post my favourites soon but Our Time Is Now (posted above) is one of my top favourites.
