I think it was not PR in the beginning and then the studio I think made it out to a PR relationship be even if they wanted to keep it private.

No one really knows for sure but I get that sense being the first film was considered an independent film. The cast thought it was going to have a small cult following like the movies Lost Boys. No one knew how it was going to grow and get out of hand.

Summit did not look at Twilight as a franchise until the second film. You can tell with the money the put into the last 4 movies and the hype around it.

I know they did that with Heroes when it came to Hayden and Milo everyone wanted their characters to get together even if they went out in real life. I am not sure and will never know but I also think some of their relationship was for PR reasons. I know that Season one everyone were rooting for Claire and Peter to get together. Even after they found out that Peter was her Uncle. The fans were not having it and wanted Peter and Claire to be together anyway.

It was really creepy and strange if you ask me. I thought the ship was great until the Uncle storyline but by that point I thought Peter had better chemistry with the other characters like Nikki and Ell. I loved Peter and El. I felt Claire and Peter were the Hook and Emma of Heroes.

Speaking of co stars who did not like each other I love how Brendan and Majandra in the beginning did not get along Brendan teased her a lot and Majandra beg Jason Katism for them not to work together and then he made them a love interest.

I love how they are still good friends and I think it is funny how Majandra introduced Brendan to his wife Jennifer.

Ugh, I hated the Peter/Claire thing! I didn't watch Heroes for very long, because it went downhill fast but the idea of Peter & Claire together was so gross. First with the age difference & then when they were related. I think it was just people who were into Milo & wanted Claire to be a self-insert for them.....

& I agree about Brendan & Majandra - I think a lot of other exes could probably take notes from them Just because you dated & broke up doesn't mean that you have to hate each other & be awkward forever!

I laugh at the writers making Peter Claire's uncle. It was the biggest F---U to the shippers and for once the writers didn't give in to fan demands.

And I also feel like a lot of shippers ship for self-insert reasons.

Yes finally people who understand my shipper problems with Peter and Claire on Heroes!

I personally always thought Peter was Claire Guardian Angel who was sent to protect her. not in a romantic way but knew she was powerful and held the key to saving the world.

I love how the writers put a wrench in everyone's romantic notions with the Uncle story line even when fans wanted it to happen so bad. Sometimes writers know best.

Then again some of the Hero fans did ship the Petrelli brothers together. That was taking family incest to a whole new level. It was almost as bad as the Peter Claire ship. However Petrellicest at times was comical!

For me Heros season one was so good then after that it was all down hill with the characters and stoylines.

I think I gave up on Heroes mid s2 and I don't remember much about it.

I was disappointed s2 was so bad cause I was excited for David Anders to be on it.

Yes I am surprised I stuck with Heroes for so long I watched a lot of season 2 but even I am drawing a blank on season 2. I don't even remember how the season ended. It was so bad.

Season 3 was even worse I stopped watching. To this day I never have seen how it ended.

In my paper they were talking about Proms and people being crowned King and Queen of the prom it made me think of Roswell and the Prom episode.

Max and Tess should of been King and Queen that would of been funny and a forshadowing.

I always thought that it had been planned that Nathan was Claire's father, so I never really thought it was a reaction to the people shipping them....

Aw I am proud of the ships I ship. Some people might not agree with but it is always fun to find ones who ship the same ship you do as well.

However I understand the shipper wars.

I might be a Dreamer at heart but I can still appreciate some Rebel scenes. Plus I always liked Tess as a character. I hate what they did to her. Even in 4 aliens and a Baby I hated what they did to her.

I remember I was tearing up at the end when she sacrificed herself for the group by blowing up the Military base so they would all be safe. Tess was a brave solider to the end and with the grace of a Queen.

I am proud of the ships I ship now, but not so much of some of the ones I used to ship that I now pretty much hate

I can't recall if I ever shipped something in the past that I now dislike. Same goes for characters on their own. I am not remembering anyone who I used to think was awesome who I now think sucks.

FYI - I'm going to be on vacation starting tomorrow until June 27. I'll try to get on for a bit while I'm away. It all depends on the wifi situation.

Ok, have a good time

Well, I'll tell you one - it was Chuck & Blair from Gossip Girl. I was a teenager when the show started & I guess I was pulled into the whole 'bad boy is good for one girl' trope, but they lost their magic pretty quickly imo. He then basically tried to trick her into having sex with someone else over a business deal, (he sold her for a hotel, essentially) which was a big wake-up call for me - but unfortunately not a lot of other fans. In the next season he physically assaulted her, but when I looked back over it, I could see that their relationship had been abusive all along. They were abusive, toxic & offensive, so of course they ended up together....it makes me choke that I used to ship them, but I was young & I have learned a lot since then, so at least it helped me start to recognize the signs of abuse when I was younger.
