Painkiller Jane Discussion #1

Thought I'd start a thread about SciFi's upcoming series Painkiller Jane.

What do you guys think of this? I think it is based on a comic, which I'm not very familiar with, but it definitely seems to be following in the tradition of girls kicking butt type heroines, like Dark Angel and Alias. I'm definitely going to check it out - I need more strong female characters in my list of TV favorites.

Since it will follow SG-1 and Atlantis I will probably give it a chance. I didn't see the mini-series, which could be either a blessing or a curse.

I didn't either, but from what I hear, it'll be ok. Though I'm not a big Lokken fan.

Vampires don't "sparkle" in the sun: they screech in horror, burst into flame and wither to ash.

From what I've read, I don't think it's too closely connected to the prior movie, I think it's more starting from scratch with the premise. Which is fine with me, as I never saw the earlier movie version anyway, so I'd much rather they just started over.

So, Jane is like Wolverine, then - she heals but it really hurts while it's happening (and I guess it hurts more depending on what it is that is injured/wrong?)? Where did her powers come from (or is that one of the points of the story, finding that out)?
