Wow, suddenly we're flying through the thread, cool!

I just read at the last thread that there's gonna be a convention in San Diego. Rats! I live in San Diego but I'm probably going to be gone that weekend - wouldn't you know. Oh well, at least I can always count on transcripts and pictures in this fandom.

Scythe 07-10-2004 03:46 AM

Aw that sucks

look I got 20000 posts! :wiggle: :D

If you are unlucky like me and your VCR decided not to record last night's Season 8 premiere of Stargate SG-1, it will be aired again Friday, July 16th, after another reairing of the Lowdown and before the series premiere of Stargate Atlantis. My fingers will be crossed all week in the hopes my VCR will cooperate this time.

Oh my God! How amazing was New Order?? I can't believe how much they did, and all the arcs they set off, it was so perfect. They had the best bad guy/good guy mix. Amanda Tapping did such a great job, and the shipper in me was very happy by the end of the episode. Oh- and Teal'C's look was so cool ;)

Arg, next week is so far away...

Lorency 07-10-2004 05:45 PM

I'm gonna go through the other seasons before I start watching out for season 8 episodes. Was it perfect?

And what look does Teal'c have? Don't tell me...he started to grow hair?

Yeah, I'll probably do the same.

Yeah, watching the eps in order is probably the best thing to do. I've been watching them all over the place, hard to keep them in line sometimes- but I'm impatient. ;)

Oh yeah, definite hair.

There's a HUGE Sam spoiler for the episode 'Affinity' at Gateworld. It's in the pics if anyone's interested. It's not a good thing IMO.

Wait? Where? What? Huh? :look:

Thanks for the new thread Scythe.

What isn't it a good thing Sugi? Well unless you're a specific shipper or two. :)

I missed them both, but I read the synopsis on everything. Sigh.

I downloaded it though, so I'll watch it today.

Lorency 07-12-2004 05:49 AM

Eep. :D

What kind of a programme do I need to have to open asf.zip?

I tried to download a episode and it popped up a window that I don't have the tools to watch the download.

What do I need? :look:

Scythe 07-12-2004 06:22 AM

Where's the spoiler?!?! I need my spoilers! :bawl:

dukesmom 07-12-2004 08:10 AM

How about blurbs from tvguide.com instead of spoilers?

Stargate SG-1
"As admirable as that is, I can't let you do it... I'm sorry. Request denied." — Dr. Elizabeth Weir
Oh, really, Doc. You've gotta know the rules of this genre dictate if you say something like that in the first five minutes, our heroes aren't going to take it for an answer.
And speaking of our heroes, doesn't that eye thing Teal'c wears while flying look like what the dentist uses to X-ray your molars? And it may just be me, but even though Thor's so darned useful, I'm more impressed by the "make mine Marvel," Dr. Don Blake version, with the thees, the thous and the Mjolnir.
and Matt Roush's Q&A:

Question:
As a sci-fi/fantasy fan who is still mourning the loss of Angel, I wanted to take a moment to plug Stargate SG-1 and the upcoming Stargate Atlantis as solid options to turn to for a sci-fi fix. After Angel was canceled, I was searching for a new favorite show, and decided to give SG-1 a try. After watching three episodes, it became my new TV obsession. The characters are funny and interesting with great camaraderie, and the action is solid. With the season premieres of both SG-1 and Atlantis coming up, now is the perfect time to give Stargate a try. I haven't seen much mention of it in this column, which is understandable, as the show seems to fly under the radar a bit, but I wanted to get the word out to anyone like me who's looking for something to satisfy the sci-fi/fantasy craving. Thanks for the chance; I really enjoy your column. — Jordyn S.
Matt:
In anticipation of the new season of Stargate and this Friday's launch of the Atlantis spin-off, I also decided to reacquaint myself with the franchise after several seasons' neglect. I wouldn't say it transcends genre in the manner of the Joss Whedon shows or Farscape, but I can see why people enjoy it, though perhaps not to the extent that it has become Sci Fi's equivalent to Law & Order in terms of its ubiquitous airings. (I'm actually kind of jazzed about the idea of getting in on the ground floor, so to speak, of Atlantis.) So consider the word spread.
