The Listener #1 - Canada's very own supernatural drama

I didn't see a thread for this show anywhere, so I thought I'd start it. Is anyone else loving the show as much as I am?

Show Premise:
The Listener is a Canadian supernatural drama about a young paramedic named Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik) with the ability to listen to people's most intimate thoughts. Toby is a 25-year-old first year paramedic who did not know his father and grew up in foster homes. Until now Toby has kept his ability secret and the only one he has shared it with is his old counselor and confidant, Dr. Ray Mercer (Colm Feore). While he crosses the city of Toronto in his ambulance with his partner Osman "Oz" Bey (Enis Esmer), Toby tries to help persons in crisis and on the way treat his own wounds. With the help of Detective Marks (Lisa Marcos) and his on-and-off girlfriend Olivia (Mylène Dinh-Robic), an E.R doctor, Toby realizes that his gift can serve to help other people. By the end of the first season Oz, Det. Marks, and Olivia know of his gift but it does get him and Det. Marks in trouble with Det. Sgt. Becker (Anthony Lemke).

There are 13 episodes of the show filmed so far. It airs on Thursday nights at 10 PM on NBC (America) and CTV (Canada). Listings in other countries can be found here.

I haven't seen many episodes, but I do have them taped and plan to get to them sooner than later. What I have seen is very good.

Yay, another poster!

The pilot episode didn't really grab me, but I continued to watch the rest of the episodes and it gets much, much better. The season finale was really well done and I'll be upset if they don't have a season two to follow up on it.

I think what I love about this show is that it's the perfect mix between a medical drama/cop show with a sci-fi element.

Thanks for the new thread. I saw the Pilot, but my sister is a huge fan and saw all the episodes.

Thanks for this thread!

I love this show. It started off a bit rusty (though w/ potential) but it really got great as the season went along. I hope there's a 2nd season! There has to be!

As far as shipping goes, I love the dynamic between Toby/Charlie. I think they have really good chemistry.

It gets much better after the pilot, so I suggest watching the rest.

I definately agree. It would be disapointing if they ended it now. I'm really curious to find out more about Toby's family and see how they carry on things from the finale. I read recently that the show is doing pretty well in Europe - they're just waiting to see how it'll do in the US now.

I don't mind Toby with Olivia, but I definately see the potential between him and Charlie as a pairing. I loved the episode where Charlie's boss is getting suspicious abut Toby hanging around the office all the time so Toby tells him they're dating.

Tonights episode was great! Tim Rozon! The season finale looks like it's going to be amazing.

Thanks for sharing that! I wasn't too sure what the fate of the show would be since the airing of S2 was majorly delayed and there was really a lack of promo for it in comparison to S1. Good news.

I'm annoyed that the remaining few episodes of the season haven't been aired on CTV yet and aren't available on their website either.
