Well it's really hot today! Because I was ill I didn't cut the hedge for the past few weeks. So I got on with it this morning only to find a wasps nest in the hedge where I'm cutting! That freaked me out!

Yesterday we were at a friend's barbeque, and someone I know from choir turned up! Such a small world!

nice! choir people the world is big and yet small.

i was out and about all weekend. enjoying summer activities. sidewalk sale on Saturday, did some thrifting and then today went to a circus show. came home late and tired.

They didn't sting me at all. But I don't like them, and the nest is right next to where I park my car, so we sprayed it with wasp killer. I'd leave it alone, but I have to go near the spot!

I'm taking my car to the garage tomorrow as the window wash has died, it seems.

Ohh! Which movies? Anything good? We wanted to see Thor last weekend, but we couldn't fit it in.

the movie festival i went to has all kind of movie from sci-fi, fantasy, kung fu, experimental, independent to foreign movies. it's cool

Well, mainly by not going anywhere, Leanne! I didn't get much sleep though. Plus my back has gone into spasm, so I'm having a lot of difficulty moving around right now. But it got to 37°C here yesterday. Never seen temperatures like that here before.

Yes, it's all fixed now, Tracy. That sounds like a fun festival!

It was around that temperature here today too. I stayed in all day. I had to water the plants in our yard so I wait til 8:30 when the sun is down!!

sorry about your back pain. Getting older can be sucky sometimes.

Are you still at the movie festival or is it over? which films did you watch? It does sound fun!!

Ack, this is sad for me, a woman my age was murdered in a domestic dispute like two streets down from my house!! This afternoon! I saw the 10 + police vehicles and ambulances rush by my window and knew something serious was happening in the neighborhood, but its turned out to be the worst case scenerio, so close by me.

The heatwaves are definitely getting worse! Fortunately ours only lasted 2 days, but it has been so dry this year! There's been grass fires, and the heat made at least 5 water mains burst in my town that I know of.

That's awful, Leanne! Domestic violence definitely needs to be taken seriously.

Have you heard from Kim lately? I've messaged her several times during this year, and she hasn't even read my messages. Of course paranoia makes me think I've done something wrong, although that doesn't seem too likely. It has happened before that I've been ghosted, for something I didn't realise I'd done.

I’m sorry about Kim making you feel like she’s ghosting you. I have been talking to her periodically on Skype. She’s not enjoying her time at that place with the corrupt staff there and might be able to get her own place through community resources. maybe when she gets settled in her own place she will be able to be in a better mood to return here and have energy to speak to everyone? Her mood is just not the best place she can’t concentrate on too many things, I am thinking. Do you want me to tell her to say hi? She really hasn’t been on all this time, so she really hasn’t been ignoring you specifically, girlie!

Maybe Skype can create a chat conversation with 3 or more people. I wonder.

domestic violence is awful. i've worked with victims before so sad. often vulnerable people to start with and the aggressor took advantage of that.

the movie festival ends next week. it was a horror short films night last night. there was this sci-fi movie called Vesper that i really like, it'll come out in September, i highly recommend it.

the heatwave has been on/off here. i still prefer heat over our winter temperature.

Thanks, Leanne. Definitely say hi from me. I'm glad there's a chance she can get to a better place. I don't know I've never used it. I know Zoom does though.

Well our winters are fairly mild, Tracy, I'm sure yours are not, though! Heat is okay if you're used to it, but we're really not set up for it here. Those films sound very interesting.

I'm glad you were able to help them, it is a terrible thing.
